Das Alter des Baumes von rd. 900 Jahren ist nicht verbürgt. Allerdings sprechen der Stammumfang von über 12m wie auch Höhe und Durchmesser der Baumkrone für eine enorme Lebensspanne. Seit 1956 ist diese Linde ein Naturdenkmal. Stützen und Drahtseile sollen ein Auseinanderzubrechen verhindern.
