It is mineralogically the most interesting mountain in the entire Fichtel range. Around the summit there are about 20 quarries, in three of which Epprechtstein granite is quarried.

Wirklich beeindruckende Überreste der ehemaligen Burg. Den typischen Aufbau mit Vorburg und innerer Burg sowie Zugbrücke kann man noch toll erkennen. Es gibt kleine Informationstafeln an einzelnen Gebäude Abschnitten, diese könnten aber noch ausführlicher gestaltet werden.

Auch bei schlechtem Wetter hatten wir Spaß beim Wandern. Da man meist im Wald ist wird man auch nicht nass. Leider war das Wetter halt nicht so gut daher hat man vom Aussichtspunkt auf der Burg nichts gesehen.

Die Burgruine selbst ist eher durchschnittlich. Die Aussicht von dort jedoch top. Besonderes der Weg zur Ruine ist sehr sehens- und gehenswert. Wir sind den Steinbruchweg gegangen. Einfach toll. Der ganze Berg gleich einem einzigen Steinbruch. Überall trifft man auf die meist offengelassenen Brüche samt Infotafeln. Auch für die Biodiversität sind die Steinbrüche ein Gewinn. Wir haben viele interessante...
