Me and my friend have done hiking a few times and this trail was just the right level of difficulty for us. We left munich at 6am in the morning and started hiking the H2 (Medium-Hard) trail around 8am. We needed around 2 hours and a half to reach the Restaurant (Berggasthaus Herzogstand). From there we tried to reach this place which is the peak of the Herzogstand mountain but we were not able to continue our hike to the peak because it was still march and the trail was covered in snow and we did not bring our walking sticks to help us. So we decided to look for another viewpoint around it and we found the Fahrenberg Chapel which also gives you a good view of the snowy mountains, although I believe the peak of the Herzogstand mountain still definitely has a better view. We needed 1 hour and a half to descend from the restaurant to the parking lot. Anyways it was an amazing hike! Read moreWe trekked the mountain in first week of August. Trek is nice but at the top as it was raining, it was slippery. You can also reach to the top by cable car. NOTE- what we came to know is that we have to buy the cable car ticket from bottom of the mountain. You cannot have one side ticket from top. So if you are planning to come down by cable car then take the ticket from below.

While going up we started at wrong place and took the trek towards Heimgarten. We then climbed down and stared again for Herzogstand. To climb up it took 4+ hours with a mistake 😇. While climbing down we started at 13:45 and we were down by 15:15. As the lake water was still a bit warm we also 🏊♂️.
All in all a nice place for trek, but you do require a bit of fitness to climb from bottom to top. Other option...
Read moreIf you enjoy nature and want to have relaxing day just go and visit this place. You can take the cable car and then have a nice 30-40 mins walk until the top. Even if you are not hiking regularly it should not be so hard to get to the top. Please take some warmer clothes (it is windy) so you can spend some time on the top because the view is just amazing and you will want to stay there forever 🤗
NOTE: if you decide to go to Heimgarten (another peak 2.5 hours from this place) and you are not so prepared it is better to stay here and enjoy the view and visit Heimgarten next time. Heimgarten is MUST but as I said leave it for...
