Came here today on a Tuesday afternoon in early September 2022 with my three kids ages 6, 4, and 2. I had driven by once to scope it out (which I often do before bringing my kids somewhere, for my sake) and still wasn't quite sure where I was supposed to park or enter the grounds. I ended up parking on the street directly in front of the house along Haupstrasse, where there were many spots. We walked to the right of the house, where there is an opening in the fence leading to what looked like a private parking lot, and then a gate to walk through into the "backyard" of the house, where we could now see the gardens. I feel "gardens" is a bit of an overestimation, as it really consists of a very large lawn (with a gradual downhill slope), interspersed with poorly maintained pathways and a single fountain in the center with a circle of beautiful flowering plants around it, with a wooded border along the back, through which you can walk and exit the grounds out the back and continue walking along trails. Even despite the gardens being somewhat lackluster, the property is still quite beautiful and peaceful, and a great place to picnic and stroll around. The paths leading around the sides of the building and the gardens surrounding the perimeter of the house also feel overgrown or poorly maintained, and there were no signs with opening hours on the house or website (though it did say the grounds were accessible year round online), and the doors were all closed so we didn't go inside. There are many benches throughout the property, though they seem a little rundown as well, and only one "table" for picnicking which seemed to be a large stone that I don't think I'd want to eat off of, so we set up our picnic on a picnic blanket. There were a few other groups (I'd guess 6) that came through the property while we were there, but it is so large that it felt like we had the place to ourselves. There are several large trees throughout the lawn providing shade, but it is otherwise quite sunny. We walked off of the property through the front gate directly across from the front door onto the main street. If I were to go back, I would park in the lot adjacent to the northern aspect of the gardens, with path directly into the garden that leads directly into the gardens, off of Auf dem Steig. Overall, this a beautiful place for a relaxing stroll or picnic, though the property could overall use a little bit more attention and TLC, with a few options for very close parking but poor direction to actually access...

Peaceful former baroque schloss. I wish it had been preserved. You can tell it once was a very happy place
