KZ-Gedenkstätte Leonberg — Attraction in Leonberg

I went with my 17 year old niece after visiting the Leonberg statue near the city hall. It was only a few minutes walk from right downtown, and featured good signs (in English) explaining the history of the site, which was a work camp that the SS ran for the Messerschmidt company, producing their Me 262 Jet Aircraft. Wer unterwegs auf den Spuren des Dritten Reiches ist, der kann sich auch in Leonberg die KZ-Gedenkstätte anschauen. Im damals ersten Autobahntunnel Deutschlands wurde nämlich die Messerschmitt Bauteile im Tunnel gefertigt, und das damals von Zwangsarbeitern. Heute sieht man einen alten Tunnel mit Bildern bestückt zu einer Geschichte zusammengefasst, jeden ersten Sonntag im Monat ist dort offen und man kann ihn begehen und sich alles anschauen.
