Allwetterzoo Münster offers a delightful blend of education, entertainment, and conservation, making it a standout destination for visitors of all ages. True to its name, the zoo is designed for all-weather visits, featuring covered walkways and numerous indoor exhibits that ensure a comfortable experience regardless of the season.
The zoo boasts a diverse collection of animals, including big cats, primates, and exotic birds. Recent highlights include the birth of five healthy cheetah cubs in September 2024 and four Amur tiger cubs in May 2024, underscoring the zoo's commitment to conservation efforts.
Families will appreciate the multiple playgrounds and interactive exhibits that engage children and adults alike. The Westphalian Horse Museum, located within the zoo, offers additional educational opportunities at no extra cost.
While the zoo receives praise for its cleanliness and animal care, some visitors have noted that certain areas could benefit from modernization. Additionally, the entry fee is considered by some to be on the higher side, particularly for families.
Overall, Allwetterzoo Münster provides a well-rounded experience that combines fun, learning, and a strong emphasis on animal welfare. Its thoughtful design and recent conservation successes make it a worthwhile visit for anyone...
Read moreI have not been to the Zoo in Münster for multiple years, so I was quite happy to finally make it there again.
The ticket prices are quite high but still okay (19 Euro). Currently people should make sure to book tickets online before going to the Zoo, as due to Corona on site ticket buying is not possible.
The zoo itself was not crowded at all, even though the weather was excellent. Currently many of the buildings in the zoo are closed due to Corona and also many outside enclosures are also undergoing construction. Nevertheless, walking through the zoo is a very nice and relaxing activity. A lot of effort is placed to create interesting and naturalistic walking paths that fit the living regions of the displayed animals. That said, eben despite being a rather small zoo, many interesting animals can be seen: elephants, gorillas, Orang Utans, and Red Pandas which were one of my favorites.
Restaurants and food stands are currently open so nobody has to stay without food, sweets or drinks. The same applies to all...
Read moreI really liked this zoo. The parking lot is very big so there's enough space to park your car. Another benefit are the parking- and entrance fee which aren't very high.
The zoo is quiet big and offers hours of fun! They are building something near the entrance which will be done in 2022. I'm very curious and will definitely visit the zoo once this is done.
There are various species of animals in this zoo and especially quiet a few different species of big cats. I love big cats which makes this zoo amazing! Most animals do have a good amount of space, but not all of them. For example the lions. Their habitat isn't the size it should be. And I think that some animals habitats are a bit doll.
This zoo is also great if you have children. There are a lot of playgrounds where your children can play. There are also enough toilets throughout the whole zoo and a lot of different points where you can buy some food.
I had a great time in this zoo and that is why I would recommend...
