Cossi — Attraction in Markkleeberg

Pleasant enough. Large man made lake with eateries at the North and East. Main beaches at North and east. Harbour at East. It was a nice cycle around the lake and pretty flat all the way, There's a tarmac road all round the perimeter (so good for bladers) though you can take tracks too. It would be a huge walk a good ride round. The west side is quieter with small secluded areas and many trees, saw quite a few hammocks. Located in the south of Leipzig and very popular with the locals due to the sandy beach, Cospunder See can be approached by tram.no 3 or the lical train from Leipzig Hbf. For the tram route, you can get off at Hutten str and take bus no 65 to cospunder see nordstand. For train Route, get off at markleeberg. Watch the sunset at the lake, it gives some amazing views. One of the nicer lakes I have seen. The water is crystal clear and clean. It's quite large, so there is always a possibility to find some space where you can be on your own. The cycleway is great all around the lake, so it would never be a mistake to come by bicycle, especially since it's so easy and comfortable to reach from Leipzig.
