Didn't like the atmosphere there. Every time I went, I felt there was no great thing to do. Most people seem to be passing by or taking a shortcut. Some joggers working out evenings and many people with baby strollers. Youth doesn't seem to pick this place to spend some time. The park is in great condition thou. Barely a public restroom that is clean but locked up most of the time. Bit hidden. UPDATE: the public restroom could use some maintenance. It's still working an in order but dirty and full of Graffitis. Such installations will get closed soon. It needs more vigilance. It's too hidden. The park itself had more to offer this time. sports, Cinema and open restaurants. Well frequented by people with hobbies and sightseeing interests. Lots of fit people doing their thing. Past the over bridge it gets a bit boring, cold and somehow different scenery that I didn't enjoy as much. This side offers narrow ways that are shared by cyclists and...
Read moreWest Park holds a special place in my heart after the English Garden. It's a large park with a long stretch of greenery. The best time to visit is when winter subsides and spring begins, as the park comes alive with vibrant colors and fresh foliage.
What makes West Park truly unique is the influence of East-Asian culture, which adds to the park's beauty. Visitors can explore the Thai-Sala, a pagoda-style structure inspired by Bangkok's architecture, as well as the Nepal Pagoda, China Garden, and Japanese garden. Each of these features is a testament to the park's rich cultural heritage.
West Park is a must-visit for friends and family looking for a peaceful retreat. The park offers a range of activities, including jogging, cycling, or simply taking a leisurely stroll. The park's serene atmosphere and beautiful surroundings make it the perfect place to...
Read moreNow with Lockdown, and not being able to travel for skiing, we are blessed with a lot of snow at the moment. Westpark is full of little hills and slopes, ideal for small and big for sledding etc. The big pond is at times frozen over. There are people doing "Langlauf" on their skis, super exercise. And plenty of others just taking a stroll. There is the vintage Arty place, "Ganz am Wasser" run by a group of young folks.... Which is another story in itself, they always have great homemade snacks to takeaway(which is all that is allowed now), they have heartily decorated the place with colorful lights as dusk begins to fall. Then at the entrance of Westpark from Nestroystr. Is the Nestroy Garten. A Croatian restaurant with quite a number of traditional meals as well as typical Bavarian. Full meals to takeaway, costs less then the...
