Freibergsee — Attraction in Oberstdorf

THIS IS A SCAM!!!

So far this is a Tourist Trap for all I can say. We wanted to have a picnic by the lake and it was too hot on that day, Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that!!! Firstly, from the Bahnhof, you can not use the Deutschland Ticket! Everything is Privat connection where it will take you 3.70 Euro to go in one direction and they don't take Card!!!

Then there is another fee of 14 Euro when you have to go up to the lake... some of the circular hiking trails are up to 100m away from the lake and you usually can't see it at all! There's NOWHERE to hang your feet or splash around! (The locals probably know where) you can only swim for a fee and then only via a jetty! Absolutely unsuitable for children! Use of the toilet costs 1 euro! Exorbitant prices in the restaurant by the lake. If sombody plans to swim then it might be a good option, but when we just wanted to sit by the lake and chill, it was Impossible.

There are no other lake that I have been in Germany that Charges so much money. It was shocking and sad at the end of the day.

As beautiful as it is there...But a huge tourist rip-off!...

Wir waren vergangene Woche auf einem Halbtagesausflug bei der Skiflugschanze und haben dies im Anschluss noch mit einem Spaziergang inkl. Zwischenpause zur Stärkung im See-Restaurant kombiniert.

Der See liegt malerisch wunderschön idyllisch inmitten größtenteils unberührter Natur (klar, Schanze und Gastronomie mal außen vor) und ist auch im Winter einen Besuch wert. Der See war größtenteils gefroren, dies in Kombination mit einer herrlich sonnigen Wetter bescherte uns einen einzigartig unvergesslichen Spaziergang durch den Wald am See entlang. Circa auf halber Strecke (von der Schanze aus gesehen) liegt ein Bootsverleih sowie ein hübsches Restaurant am See. Es bietet Sitzplätze sowohl im Innen- als auch im Außenbereich, geschätzt sind es draußen sogar etwas mehr Plätze. Der Service wurde bei uns von "nur" zwei Frauen gestämmt, die jedoch einen hervorragenden Job gemacht haben - wir mussten weder lange auf unsere Getränke, noch auf unser Essen warten. Die Speisekarte weißt die gängigen Speisen und Getränke auf wie bspw. Pommes, Curry Wurst, Salate oder auch Himbeer-Pfannkuchen als kleines Schmankerl sind zu finden. Die Getränke (Cola, Eistee, Fanta, Wasser & Co.) sind überwiegend in zwei Größen bestellbar, sodass für große und kleine Gäste das passende dabei sein sollte. Die Preise waren in Anbetracht der Portionsgröße und der touristischen Ausrichtung absolut im Rahmen und okay, das Essen u. die Getränke waren geschmacklich top.

Wir planen, evtl. im Sommer nochmal in die Gegend zu kommen und dann erneut hier vorbei zu schauen, um die Idylle auch mal bei wärmeren Temperaturen genießen zu können. Eine...

A very beautiful lake among the alps. You can rent small pedal-boats and go around the lake. It has a small place to swim and jumt from a small springboard.

You can pay a ticket from the sky station to go up the hill with a cog railway and then walk down the hill for some 20 minutes.

There are good parking options and a very nice restaurante next to the parking place.
