The castle as such, is a great place to visit. The walk to the castle from the bus station was refreshing on a day when the Sun was considerate of us, but I can imagine that it could be tiring and exhausting should the Sun were a little harsh. The view of the castle from the surrounding area is marvelous. We ventured a little into the woods around and could get some interesting photos of the castle as such.
And as someone else mentioned, the tours were rather sloppy and not interesting at all. We booked a tower tour and then we were taken to the castle gardens tour even after showing our ticket to the tour guide. This was on the Sunday, 16th August 2020, at 11:30AM. We showed our tour guide asking if that was the tower tour, she didn't even have a look at the ticket and guided us along. At the end of 20 minute "Garden tour", she just said "I didn't see the ticket" and sent us away. No hint of being apologetic. Not to mention that there was not really any garden there. Maybe there was some 20 years ago but no sign of it now. So, can be avoided in my opinion, unless people are interested in just some sprawling lawn of...

Read moreVery beautiful place. Rich history. Tours with a guide but only in German. For the foreigners havе headset. I think the entrance fee is too high. 9 EUR for one tower (+/- 12 rooms on the first floor on the right) and another 7 EUR for the other tower (rooms on the first floor on the left) or 15 EUR for both. For this fee are restored and open to visit very few parts of the castle. A very large part of the castle is closed for visitors and is not restored. Otherwise the open spaces are very well restored. During our visit and at the cash desk, and at the end of the tour it was recommended a souvenir shop and a restaurant to the castle. At the restaurant, we received a rough, crude attitude from the staff. Because I do not know German, they told me very rough that they can not serve me in English. If you are a foreigner I do not recommend you even trying to sit there. Save yourself unpleasant emotions and enjoy the amazing atmosphere of the past...
