The worst experience of my life, turtles and meerkats were together, many baby meerkats were crushed by the turtles in the small space, meerkats in poor condition, malnourished living in a very small space next to the feces and urine of the turtles, while the mother tried to catch her dead young, the turtles passed over it and the rest went to the windows where they could be calm, the habitat was poorly adapted in a ROOM, they had no ventilation, the tortoises were quite big like the tortoises locked up with meerkats in a room of about 9 m2 or less, all this while all the people, especially children, overwhelmed the meerkats, which are very sensitive animals, added to this, this was in front of a play space for children, THIS WAS IN A BUILDING IN A SECOND OR THIRD floor, I don't remember well, it's like having meerkats in a room in your house with giant tortoises, I don't know how that is allowed, I'm from Ecuador and here we are extremely aware of giant tortoises and how they should be in wide open spaces where they comply their functions not in a ROOM, I was dismayed, they should be limited to having aquatic animalsm, and turtles, birds and meerkats especially must be rescued and I repeat this was in a building in a town in Germany. Added to that they let the poor meerkats suffer with their dead children while children and adults shouted and took photos and the turtles moved where they could since in that space there were many ornaments that made it impossible for the turtles to walk, directing them where they were forced to. meerkats lived or rather tortured to stay, they did not have any system of tunnels, that is A ROOM or where they dig to have their young, having them in the middle of the path of the crowded turtles, CONSIDER THAT THEY HAD A THIN LAYER OF SAND ON THE FLOOR OF A BUILDING. THE POOR MEERICATS TRIED TO CATCH THEIR CRUSHED BABIES FULL OF BLOOD BETWEEN THE LEGS OF...
In diesem...
Read moreWe can highly recommend this aquarium. While it is not‘ polished’ it it cosy and accomodating. We felt like the animals are treated with respect (ie have enough space, and the enclosures are setup with love and attention to detail). Some of the negative comments are not in line with our experience - don’t be discouraged by them. All in all an interesting experience that kept us entertained for 2.5h (even though we would have liked to stay...
