Ruin Zähringer Burg — Attraction in VVG der Gemeinde Gundelfingen

Fantastic, modest castle home of the Zähringer family. Bertold the III who founded Freiburg as a free city in 1120 lived in this castle. His nephew Bertold V started the Freiburger Münster (cathedral) and was elected emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. However, he declined in order more effectively to continue the Zähringer tradition of protecting the autonomy of communities and cities in their realm, which included Alsace (now a part of France) much of the Black Forest, and large portions of Switzerland. The Zähringers founded Bern in Switzerland and repeatedly protected the freedom of the people against power grabs. They founded numerous other free cities including Fribourg, Switzerland. I was there with a friend we started our hike from Freiburg Herdern and it took us around 4-5 hours for round hike. In order to get the key, you have to go in and to the top of the Zähringer Burg.. You can get this key from the "Wald-Restaurant Zähringer Burg" which is just 10 minutes walk from Ruin Zähringer Burg... You have to give your identity card or passport as a caution for the key.... ...

Der Weg dorthin, war steil aber die Natur ringsum super schön. Wir sind mit einem Hund und einem Kinderwagen unterwegs gewesen und es ist ein schöner Spaziergang von ca. 1 1/2 Std. durch einen schönen Mischwald. Ja leider gab es auch hier Zecken, was wir an unserem Hund sehen konnten. Etwas unterhalb der Burg gibt es ein kleines Ausflugs Lokal was innen noch in Original Schwarzwälder Einrichtung ausgestattet ist und draußen mit einem schönen Gastgarten und einem Spielplatz für die kleinen Ausgestattet ist. Die sehr sehr leckeren Küche und auch die Eisbecher laden zum Genießen und Verweilen ein und sind bei dem heißen Wetter eine angenehme Abkühlung. Die Burg oben selbst ist einer Ruine nur der Turm steht noch und man darf diesen auch benutzen. Eine Aussicht, da verschlägt es einem die Sprache. Es ist auf alle Fälle ein Ausflugsziel.
