Dornbusch lighthouse — Attraction in West-Rügen

It’s early July when we visit so it’s advisable to bring hat/cap, sun block if you visit in summer time.

*Cruise Ride: park and take the Bahn that will drop you at the cruise centre, it’s easier and the place tends to be busy.

Upon arrival, enjoy the walking trial before we arrive at the Leuchtturm which was well maintained, we didn’t pay to climb the light house but it was already good able to see it from outside... we even met a couple with 2 kids that sailed (and live on board) from Netherlands! how cool is that 😎

The lighthouse! This is the symbol! and stands symbolically for the island Hiddensee. From here you will have a 360 degree view. Southern is the island Hiddensee itself with the four villages Grieben, Kloster, Vitte and Neuendorf. Northern/western the baltic sea, at good weather consists you may see the Swedish coast. Idyllisch gelegener Leuchtturm, der schon bei der Fahrt mit dem Fahrrad von Kloster aus zum Fotografieren einlädt. Die Fahrräder müssen am Radparkplatz unterhalb des Leuchtturms abgestellt werden. Das ist gut so. Die letzten Meter kann man gut zu Fuß machen. Wir hatten herrlichstes Wetter. Der Eintrittspreis ist ok, wenn er auch dem Unterhalt seines Outfits dient. Die Treppe ist gut machbar, wenn man auch auf Gegenverkehr Rücksicht nimmt; das letzte Stück oben muss man sehr vorsichtig gehen und rückwärts wieder runter. Die Altersbegrenzung für Kinder ist aus Verantwortung der Betreiber verständlich. Oben wurden wir mit einer grandiosen Sicht auf die umgebende Landschaft und die Ostsee sowie Weitsicht bis auf die Kreidefelsen dem dänischen Insel Mön belohnt. Nach dem Besuch lohnte sich das Mittagessen Inder Gaststätte „Zum Klausner“ nur ca. 400 m entfernt. Die Portionen und die Qualität sind super und die Preise fürs Essen total akzeptabel. Der Gang die Klausnertreppe hinunter zum Wasser beendete dann leider nachmittags meinen Urlaub drei Tage vor Ende der zwei Wochen abrupt mit einen Beinbruch. - Der Hinweis „Auf eigene Gefahr“ ist sehr angebracht.
