As we were accommodated in Beyin Beach Camp, the manager arranged canoe trip for us. We went on canoe with hilarious guide and paid: entrance fee - 40ghs/foreigners, 20ghs Ghanaian, 10 ghs for boat, 5ghs camera. The trip on canoe takes around 1 hour to the village and 1 hour back. For those in rush there is motor boat for 60ghs which you order from tourist centre in tiwn. But than you don't enjoy peaceful boat ride on the river and lake. The village itself is really small, don't expect much. The guide will take you around. I recommend you start your trip early in morning as there is plenty of tourist coming around noon. You will be asked to donate some money to school. The people are bit reserved in comparison to other Ghanaians but I totally get that hundreds of tourists marching around their houses looking at them like they are live exhibition must be pretty frustrating. Definitely try local food "Acheke" made from cassava with stew and fish. You can also swim...

Wow, Nzulezu is truly a hidden gem! The stunning stilted village built over Lake Tadane showcases such unique architecture and a fascinating way of life. I love how the community has adapted to their environment, creating a vibrant culture that thrives on water. The serene landscapes and vibrant colors make for breathtaking photos! It's incredible to see how nature and tradition intertwine in this beautiful setting. Nzulezu not only highlights the ingenuity of its people but also serves as a reminder of the diverse lifestyles found around the world. I would love to visit and experience its...

The Village on Stilts - Nzulezu is located approximately 90 kilometres from Takoradi, in the Jomoro District of the Western Region of Ghana. If you come from Accra is a very long full day trip! Nzulezo sits on the Lake Tadane. It is a nice day excursion, specially the boat ride to the village. The village itself is indeed interesting, as is entirely made up of stilts and platforms over the lake, but besides the location and the very rural homes on stilts there is not a lot to do. It will take maybe 45 minutes to 1 hour the most, to tour the whole village. The school is very...

The ride on the boat to Nzulezo was the only experience i enjoyed on this trip. To be honest i had so much expectations going to this place since it's one of the very well known tourist attractions in Ghana but upon arrival i was really disappointed as there was nothing spectacular about the place. Maintenance was also a problem. I believe the Ghana Tourism Authority can do more to develop this place. The boat ride is enjoyable though.
