This beach is split in 2 parts.
On the left is an organised beach dominated by chairs/umbrellas and occupied by The Deck. If you’re happy to pay to use run down chairs then this part is ok.
On the right is a large unorganised section, with some large rocks and a pine forest that reaches the beach. This could be amazing but is ruined by a few things:
Illegal campers who fill the forest, forcing you to walk through a camping site to get to the beach. There are so many and there is no infrastructure for camping because this is not a camping site! Where do they put their trash? Where do they do their biological needs? Also, they cook and light fires in the pine forest. I think it’s only a matter of time before a forest fire is started which would be a massive tragedy. It is especially disrespectful for tourists to do this in a country they are visiting. Pease show some respect.
“Naturalist” people, frequently the same who camp illegally. This is not a nudist beach. It is illegal to expose yourself in public, except at a designated nudist beach. It wouldn’t be much of a problem if they go to the more isolated far right of the beach, but they stay close to where the people are. Again, this is disrespectful to the country you are visiting, in addition to being illegal. Show some respect.
The Deck, who has now built a wall, making it harder to access the right side of the beach and forcing you to walk through his cafe. How is this even legal? In addition, the guy now offers paragliding, landing on the right side of the beach so you frequently hear shouting at children to get out the way so they can land, preferably not on your head.
In summary, this beach is a great example of modern Greece. Magical natural beauty, ruined by selfish people, and the incompetence of...
Read moreThis is considered one of the most wild nice beaches in Lefkada. Searched by a lot of people who prefer raw beaches and by nudists and naturists. Its nice that it has some free parking on the street and even a restaurant with pool, showers, sunbeds and toilet/restroom.
You come down through the restaurant and directly on the beach. I would recommend bringing an umbrella and towels and make your own spot.
Its crowded and full of kids at the beginning but on the right side it gets more wild, and after the tents and campers it gets more with nudist people. Towards the right end (near the cliffs) it becomes more gay friendly (mostly couples of men).
Very nice place to take a lof of pictures.
Expensive food at the “Deck” restaurant. One plate gyros 15 euro, one beer 4euro, but being the only retail place there I guess...
Read moreLong and wide sandy beach, almost wild (if we exclude the Deck beach bar at the left part of the beach). Far right part of the beach is popular among nudists. Afternoon hours come with a bit of wind and waves. Not much of a shadow close to the sea, so bring your umbrella, though the part under the road is with some trees and its usually occupied by campers. The beach is easily accessible by car and its not so hard to find a spot to park. Definitely one of the best beaches to visit on Lefkada, more...
