The road to this beach is very steep and twisty (like all the roads on the west side of Lefkada) but once you get there it's all worth it. All the prices which I'm about to list here are for June mid to late (idk if they'll change in full season) There are two-three parkings with plenty of lots and they all cost 5€/day.
There is a toilet and shower (open space shower) near parking and the overall cleanness is good (at least in the morning).
After the parking you descend a bit and find three huts with coffe, refreshments, sandwiches and beach gear. Large water is 1,5€, club sandwiches about 5€, coffee 3-4€. At this level the view is gorgeous and you start descending the stairs to the beach.
The beach is long enough, but it still can get a little crowded. The first part has umbrellas and seats which you can rent. Mainly it is covered in round white stones but there are areas where you can find some gravel too. Take the water shoes with you.
The water is amazing, but if you want to do some snorkeling or simply swim in crystal waters you must come in the morning (because afterwards it gets crowded and the stones release chalk when stepped on). The morning is also better because after 10-11AM, cruise boats from Nidry with tourists start docking close to the shore and they also disturb the water. Some smaller boats even come to the shore and they leave debree behind them. The water can also get chalky if there are bigger waves. It's not bad and it's fun when there are waves, but like I said - it won't be crystal clear.
If you get hungry during the day, there are some people dressed in yellow which take orders for a restaurant nearby and they deliver the food straight to you on the beach. You can't miss them as this is highly advertised...
Read morePorto Katsiki is a Beach on the Ionian island of Lefkada, Greece. The name is said to be because formerly only goats could reach this area. The beach is famed for its landscape and clear blue sea. It is located at the bottom of a concave pale cliff. It is 35 km from Lefkada town, near Athani village. Porto Katsiki has parking lots and canteens. There is no lodging, and camping is prohibited. There is a stairway down to the beach from the cliff-top parking. In the day, boats bring tourists to the beach, particularly from nearby Nidri. When Lefkada was hit by an earthquake in 2015, the beach was badly damaged. Geologists estimated that the beach will be restored naturally over time. It ia one of the most beautiful beaches on a whole island and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. If you are on Lefkada it’s a must see. Just be shore to bring umbrellas, towels and seats because you are in for a whole day there and there is nowhere to rent those things, this beach is non- commercial. Read moreIf you followed me on social media you already know how much I love this island :) It became my home and also the playground for my passion for photography. Porto Katsiki is just one of those places where you arrive and inevitably you get your phone out and take as many pics as you can. Been here many times and saw Porto Katsiki in all sorts of different ways. During high season it's totally different, as it's packed. But still breathable. Made a video on Youtube from my account called Lefakda Last Minute with tips and tricks to know when visit Porto Katsiki. Google it :) That should give you some useful hints. To be short here, I'll mention only a few things. There are some sunbeds usually starting May or June till September probably. There is a tavern delivering food on the beach. There are beach bars up the stairs. There are not so many stairs down to the beach, so don't be afraid of that. The road to the beach is a good concrete road and a scenic ride. Just drive slowly, as it's a curvy road. Lots of paid parking places and a public toilet close to the parking area. If you go early in the morning you have natural shade till 1-2 PM if you go all the way to the left side of the beach. Also, there are boat trips that take you there, but they only let you swim for an hour or so. Really guys, don't leave Lefkada till you visit Porto Katsiki :) Have a wonderful holiday...
