This was our 1st visit to Lefkada, and we absolutely had to see Porto Katsiki. Beautiful, small beach, with turquoise color of the sea. This pristine beauty is 'protected' by two obstacles you have to overcome: hour-long journey by car from the north of the island (we stayed in Frini), and climbing up the stairs from the beach when you're ready to go home at the end of the day.
We were three families with children from 3 to 10. And it was great for all of us!!!
Bilvi isn't like most beach bars you can find in Greece - it offers food/drinks AT THE VERY BEACH! So, no need to 'climb the mountain' for a lunch. The restaurant itself is even above parking lots - several of them!
Their staff circles at the beach in regular intervals, and you can order whatever is served in the restaurant. Food was very tasty - as an illustration, our box was empty 5 minutes after it was brought to us. :)
Personal experience: after a nice chat with one of their staff who helped us order, we were shocked to learn that she was in fact the owner of the place, working together with others! My wife and I appreciate that managerial style very much!!!
And a very strong impression they left on me: we were on the beach all day, and left for dinner to a restaurant on the other side of the island. When we got there WE REALIZED MY WIFE HAD LEFT HER BAG (with passports and wallet!!!) at the parking, not even close to Bilvi!!!!! 40 minutes had passed. We quickly googled the number and called Bilvi - and THEY FOUND THE BAG with all things in it!!! I couldn't believe it. The owner even brought it back to us, as she was visiting Lefkas the following day. Such people deserve appreciation! Thank...
Read moreI was on Porto Katsiki Beach in late August. The beach is wonderful, it is obligatory to visit it. And now, the negative side to know what to expect. In 2 weeks of cruising Greece, it is the most commercial beach. There is also a company (Bilvi) who brings beach food orders. All respect for the idea, but this has nothing to do with Greek hospitality, or with the Greek food I have served in all the other carved places. The price / quality ratio is 9/2, disappointing. And everything culminated in trying to get us jealous. You have 2 attachments with the first pay note (handwritten), where there is a so-called meal arrangement (that was the waiter's explanation), the tax that did not want to appear on the tax bill, which I later asked for . Let's be...
Read moreThe lady we tried ordering from on Porto Katsiki beach from Bilvi Restaurant was incredibly rude and abrupt. We would ask some questions related to the food and she wouldn't listen, but instead made us feel as though we're stupid! Later we found out that she is actually the manager, which makes the entire situation even more irritating considering she should be a role model for the rest of the staff. As we spent the entire day on the beach we were hungry and eventually ended up ordering from another staff member. Regardless, the food was expensive, small portions and not at the standard quality normally experienced in Greece. This restaurant has captured the entire beach, so if you go to spend a day at Porto Katsiki in Lefkada you easily fall...
