We visited the beach as part of a day trip by boat. The beach is eye-catching feeling like as scene from a fifties hollywood movie. The journey by boat took around forty minutes taking in stunning views of Crête, Spinalonga and the Aegean. Turquoise waters change to deep blue then back to turquoise.
The tours normally include some type of barbecue that is cooked on brick grills built into the island. The solitude of the beach and island only add to the appeal. Especially during the high season, a lot of boats arrive after 11 a.m. to disembark visitors. Oh, and don't expect to find any amenities like shower, toilets or even sunbeds. The road to the beach is a narrow gravel road on a steep shore, you have to walk on a bushy slope the last 500 m from the parking. If not for the difficult access and lack of space/ shade, I would definitely...
