Kolokytha Beach — Local services in Municipality of Agios Nikolaos

Amazing place for snorkeling, one of the best in crete. The road was a nightmare we were not prepared for. We started ascending a dirt road, super steep with room for one car only. Still, cars were coming from both ways. On the right side there was no fence and you were right on the edge... Super stressing...would not recommend for unexperienced drivers ( we thought we are experienced until this moment). Impossible to turn or go back so we had to go all the way up. The beach was super crowded and boats were coming continuously playing loud music...still great snorkeling...

Not worth the effort of getting there. Goat path for older people might be a problem, especially when going back. Narrow road, two cars can pass each other at a few spots, at high season horrific. No place to sit at te beach, only next to stoney wall. Often waves gets you vet. When boats arrive water is filled with people. The water is great, very warm and it's color is amazing! It's a beach with sand and gradually gets deeper so it's great for everyone, even small kids and non/poor swimmers. But the actual beach is very small and narrow. And no shade. And, of course, you get here by boat. I was at Kolokytha as part of an organised trip and got to visit...
