We bought a package through Airbnb for 10âŹ. The information that was given through Airbnb and the reviews didnât meet our expectations. Itâs insinuated that there would be several varieties of tastings even though the package only included two tastings. The host was very nice and professional about the situation and she had had the same problem with some clients the day before us. She offered us one extra glass of wine as a kind gesture for the misunderstanding. We had a very nice conversation with her in which she talked us through the history of the establishment and the story about the family owning the wine yard. She also talked us through the process of winemaking and showed us the equipment. She explained it in good details, so you werenât unsure for a second that she knew what she was talking about. We would recommend buying a wine tasting directly from the company. In this way youâll support the hardworking locals directly. You will also avoid the ectra
Overall the experience was amazing, the wine was delicious, the staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the aesthetic were unreal.    Read moreWe visited on a Tuesday in early April, definitely pre-tourist season for the island. We booked the evening before and everything was fine. We were the only people on our tour, but a few couples came after us for their own tours. It felt quiet and private which was lovely.
On arrival we were met by a really enthusiastic welcome, and shown around the museum, which was a room containing old wine and vineyard equipment. We asked questions and our guide gave us a thorough explanation of the processes and how they changed - as well as what has remained the same over almost 200 years.
Following the museum, we visited the cellar, saw some current machinery and spoke about modern wine making. We also watched a video about olive oil making onsite.
Finally, we had a light snack outside, which included bread, feta, meat, tomatoes, and olives in olive oil. We both had two glasses of white wine. There is the option to add a glass of rosĂ© or red (which they make in much smaller quantities) for about âŹ5 extra.
We had no idea that Theotoky Wine was mentioned in James Bond's No Time To Die!!
Overall, it was a great 2hrs well spent. Our host was exceptional, friendly, and helpful....
Read moreBefore I start I want to say that the wine was superb..... however we had paid for the tour, wine and olive tasting (2 types) including a light snack. We paid âŹ48 for this. We got the tour, the wine tasting and 2 small pieces of bread drizzled with olive oil. We paid an extra âŹ14 to get a bottle of red wine. When asked if they ship to the UK I was told they no longer did as Brexit had caused the shipping costs to rocket. Fair enough.... bought a further 2 bottles of red and a small can of olive oil. However when we got back to the hotel we discovered that we had been charged for 3 bottles of red (we had already paid seperately for the red wine that we drank) and we hadn't had the full package - just the basic wine tasting which should have cost just âŹ30. So we have been over charged by some âŹ32! Not impressed..... (it cost us âŹ70 to get there and back so it's not worth going back to complain about this.) Worth a visit but check what your ticket includes and what you pay for!!
Update.
After discussing this with the owner and him checking his till receipts the money for the wine is due to be refunded and he will contact the booking company to reimburse for the...
