Magganari Beach — Attraction in Municipality of Ios

Magannari beach has two beaches, named as "east side" and that "West side beach".Remote and quite, Each of them has a restaurant.If you are not a driver the bus goes straight to east side.It doesn't matter where you can go first.But as a driver I recommend to park at first to the east side beach cause has plenty of parking.Tip: umbrellas and the seabeds are free.Hurry up to get one as soon as you arrive. As about the beaches you can easily reach both of them because Between them as you can see from the photos are semi-connected by a small rocky "island" ,you will totally love it for photos. Magganari has one of the best and probably the best beach of IOS . Has so pure and clean as crystal water,you will definitely love it as I loved it. That's why has the blue flag as a beach. It's a certified beach from the Greek organisation. Google it to explore more blue beaches around...

This is undoubtedly the best beach in the whole island of Ios! Turquoise, transparent water and a sandy beach surrounded by a barren, wild nature. The most tranquil and enjoyable beach I’ve ever been! Also some water sports going on, if with young family. Paid 10euros for the whole set of sand beds and had lunch at the adjacent tavern at the back ( also very decent prices ). Parking is for free at the back. The only difficulty is getting there … even by car was quite a challenge and should definitely be careful with the silly Google maps directions, which will most probably take you off road ( very dangerous route - make sure you stay on the main road, no matter what Google suggests and avoid driving in the dark ). It’s a pretty beach, don’t get me wrong, but not sure it’s worth getting on the 2 hr round trip bus for 8 euros. The ride is cheap but we disliked that there’s only a bus that leaves at noon and gets back at 5pm. Once we got there, we felt it wasn’t worth the long bus ride and windy roads. The water is clear and beautiful, but the sand isn’t that soft and isn’t as described “golden and soft”. The thing that’s cool and if you’re into this, then this is maybe worth it to you: it’s shallow water for a really big distance so you can hang in the water without having to swim. The beach is really remote so you’re limited to eating and drinking at two...
