Grand Blue Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Ios

Not going to lie. It has the location and that's it, this was dull, I feel empty after my visit, both literally and emotionally. Like I don't want to go overboard but genuinely, the food that I ordered to share with a friend I wouldn't even call a portion for one person and they brought 5 plates. It was the octopus in olive oil and vinegar, 9 euro and they served something that came pre-made in a plastic packaging, that is sold internationally. I literally bought this same exact octopus in a grocery store in a landlocked country, for half the price, when from the view of the restaurant I could literally see the sea, I wasn't expecting anything spectacular for 9 euro but at least I expected something even the tiniest bit better than the Czech Republic in terms of octopus.

That's one thing. Then in the group, we ordered 4 pita portions. They only brought one at the start and either the portion was absolutely tiny or they did not bring the other two. The last portion was ordered afterward but never arrived, with two repeated requests for it after the fact, with an assurance that it was coming, never came, and still paid for it.

Out of all the food ordered at the table the best was apparently the Greek Salad and the Carbonara, they were pretty mid but at least the portions were proportional to the price for a change.

In terms of service, throughout the whole thing staff acted quite friendly and even tried to joke with us a bit, which would have been nice if the actual SERVICE part of the service was decent. The first waiter told us he could not receive food only drinks and told us that a different waiter was assigned to food, we asked him if he could call him over, to which he promptly ignored us. When the other waiter came, he said the same thing, he could not order food, just drinks and left, finally after 30 minutes of us sitting at the table a final third waiter came and collected our orders + drinks, which puts us in a dilemma, if this one waiter can collect both food and drinks, then what is the point of the other two? The inner workings and structure of this place vexes me on a spiritual level.

In the end, the portions were unreliable, the food quality vs pricing was questionable and the service, it just didn't exist man, what do you want me to say?

I was left hungry after eating here, one part of me wanted to order something else to eat, but then I realised that either way if I tried anything other than a mid Carbonara or salad then I'd be playing russian roulette with the portion size, so I opted to stay hungry out of pettiness.

P.S. The pepper in the octopus dish was kinda 🔥 though. + 1 star for food...

Ordered grilled chicken, chicken was very bland, small pieces. Meant to come with salad, which was just a few leaves and 2 slices of zucchini, with one slice of carrot and one slice of tomato, all for 13 euros which is ridiculous. Also ordered the burger, which felt like it had been frozen and heated up in a microwave. They put ketchup everywhere to try and disguise the lack of taste, also for 13 euros. Only nice thing was the feta cheese but that was for 6 euros, which again is quite expensive for what we ordered. With water and a coke, the bill ended up being 40 euros which just felt like a scam for what the quality of food was. We chose this place for its good reviews so we were very disappointed at the...

Well they have 3 man order but only one take orders the other only can take drinks. Then the food on the menu to share is for the octopus is exact the same as the one bought in supermarket and let’s not the portion are not for share they are barely enough for one person, the best thing was the Mythos because it was a beer that you will need if you eat there.
