Amazing find. We very nearly didn't visit but so glad we did. A short walk down the cliff road from the car park at the top, there are limited spaces at the bottom.
A snack bar on the beach with parasoles and loungers, which you pay for, then further on the star of the location hot water heated naturally underground comes up into the sea which is completely free to use.
A small pool has been dredged to create a spa feel where the hot water meets the cool sea creating a wonderful mixed temperature experience.
Go close for extremely hot, middle for comfortably hot and cooler by the stones at the back making it accessible for all ages.
A slight word of warning, wear old or dark swimwear the mineral content is very high and so my nice pale swim shorts ended up stained a red/orange colour.
We took food but be aware of the goats which come down the cliff and help themselves to people food.
Highly recommend taking the time to visit, you will not be...
Read moreThe tooth and nothing else! It is a wonderful location. We walked from Fokas up the hill due to the bus schedule. The distance is approximately 3 kilometers. The descent from the top, where the restaurant is located, is manageable, although the gravel is somewhat loose. The pool, where the spring is situated, is small but still offers ample space. The water has a slight smell of eggs 🥚, but it is not overwhelming. The spring water is hot 😉, making the transition from the hot spring to the cold sea quite enjoyable. The goats are delightful; be sure to bring a few apples for them. You can also receive a full body massage 💆♂️ for 20 euros, which my partner described as excellent quality 👌 and very affordable. The bus schedules vary, but most buses depart from Kos Town on the hour, taking approximately 25 minutes to reach the destination, which...
Read moreBeautiful area however would recommend only a short time needed to spend here. There is parking at the top of the hill along with a cafe. Further down, there is another cafe along with toilets. When we visited, the toilets were not ready for use meaning getting changed was interesting. The spring water is super warm and we got there earlier meaning it was quiet. As we were leaving, it began to crowd so would recommend getting there around 9ish. The area does consist of stones and rocks so would also recommend taking sea shoes when in the water. The sea itself is also lovely. The climb up is only around 5/10 minutes back up however in the heat and bearing in mind it is back up 300m, I would recommend trainers, lots of water and bracing yourself. We also saw goats in the mountains. No need to pre-book and was...
