Paralia Kokkina — Attraction in Municipality of Leros

A small, hidden beach with no facilities apart from a few Tamarix trees providing natural shade. A mixture of sand and small stones makes it possible to lie down without pain and to enter the water even without sea shoes. Take food and water with you, as there are no bars or kiosks. A car park with several trees is located right at the beginning of the beach. Reading some of the comments, it seems that you can only reach the car park with a 4x4, but we managed it with a 125cc scooter without ever getting off.

La spiaggia rossa di Leros. Incontaminata, probabilmente la spiaggia migliore di Leros. Si raggiunge percorrendo per circa 5km la strada asfaltata sul lato destro del lungomare di Lakki. Seguendo le indicazioni per il museo di guerra e proseguendo ancora dopo il bivio per altri 2 km. Sulla sinistra un cartello indica il bivio per la spiaggia. L'ombra è poca e fornita da tre alberi di cui solo l'ultimo è largo abbastanza da riparare 8, 10 persone. La cala è incantevole protetta dal meltemi è quindi ideale nei giorni con forte vento. L'acqua è popolata da pesci di varie specie oltre a polpi e seppie, i saraghi anche di dimensioni interessanti la fanno da padroni. Possibile incontrare cernie e murene a 7, 8 metri di profondità, dopo la punta sul lato destro della cala. Sul lato sinistro della cala da vedere la grotta alta almeno 5 metri il cui fondo è sommerso ed è raggiungibile a nuoto. Arenile di sabbia e...
