Venetian castle unique in its own nature, a true imposing masterpiece and the most important landmark of Koroni. Inside you will see the temple of Apollo ruins as well as the 7th century byzantine churches of Saint Sophia and the newest Saint Charalambos. There is also a beautiful convent called Moni Timiou Prodromou where you will find the friendliest nuns and a shop packed with amazing decoration stuff for your house.Remember that they accept only cash. Read moreThis is one of the biggest Castles we have ever been to. It's not so m8ch a castle as a fort and it's spread over a few hundred square metres if not more. It is also the last inhabited middle age built fort, so you can see peoples actuall houses inside. It is simply beautiful with lots of olive trees everywhere and breathtaking views from the battlements. There wasn't an entry price to visit here. Also, if you visit make sure you find parking lower down the hill as the gps will bring you right to the entrance of the castle but there isn't really any parking close by. Read moreThe Koroni Castle was somewhat difficult to find as you may miss the plate quickly and end up in the narrow streets downtown. Off season (October) we could drive our car totally inside the castle's walls that hide the monastery and offer room for some cars also.
