Terrible service, poor food.

This is a beautiful little traditional restaurant in a lovely location, with stunning views over the water, looking out across to Koroni’s harbour. It could be incredible.

We were disappointed that there didn’t seem to be any local fresh fish options and both went with the cod from the specials menu, a Greek salad and some wine.

The wine was fine, drinkable and very cheap.

The fish was really disappointing. Soggy skin, overcooked to the point of being chewy in places and badly under seasoned. The potatoes we’d asked to accompany our fish were actually pale, slightly undercooked fries; still hard in the middle of the larger ones.

We were both hungry so ate most of it without really enjoying it but no one came to ask if our food was ok. Other larger tables around us seemed to get lots of attention.

Our waiter didn’t seem at all bothered about us to the point where, after a long wait we finally managed to get her attention asked for the bill. It was brought to the table and she asked if everything was ok but before we could answer she’d already turned and walked away.

We needed to pay by card so, after again waiting a while, I got up to the bar to pay. There, I told her that the fish was overcooked to which she replied, “Ok.” I said the fries weren’t great either and were undercooked. “Ok.” And finally I said the service had been poor. “Ok.”

After visiting the beautiful seaside town of Koroni, on recommendation and after reading many excellent reviews, we decided to have lunch at the Artaki restaurant. Being Sunday, we called and reserved a table in advance for 1 o' clock to be on the safe side. We were welcomed by a very kind waiter who gave us time to settle in at the beach before sitting down at our table. The place is very nice and peaceful, with a stunning sea view and friendly kitties (they weren't bothersome at all!). The waiter kindly brought us fresh water immediately without us having to order it. We got a variety of meze, meat and fried fish and indeed everything was excellent! The meze dishes, which are my personal favourites, were outstanding; the Greeks always know how to make their vegetables shine! The roast lamb and potatoes melted in the mouth and the fried mussels were crispy and flavourful. The tsipouro and coffee we ordered were also on the house ☺️ What's more, being able to eat and then pop down to the beach is the icing on the cake. Achtung, diese fundierte Bewertung wurde unterdrückt,... Leider haben wir (10 Personen) schon im Sommer des Vorjahres zwei mal schlechte Erfahrungen im Artaki gemacht. Das Essen war noch OK, aber nicht mehr als durchschnittlich für Koroni und Umgebung. Der Service war leider so gut wie nicht vorhanden, wir wurden bei Nachbestellungen von Getränken schlicht "übersehen", das Essen war nach etwa 2,5 Stunden dann endlich vollständig auf dem Tisch,... Da die Lage wirklich schön ist, dachten wir uns, daß wir es in diesem Jahr doch noch einmal versuchen. Das Essen war leider sehr schlecht, einmal Fisch mit Gemüse(11 €),...Fisch war ein kleines Stück(vielleicht 50 g), das Gemüse war total zerkocht. Einmal Cotfisch (Kabeljau)frittiert mit Pommes(10,50 €), der Fisch war als solches nicht zu geniessen und auch sehr unansehnlich, die Pommes total schlaff und halbkalt.Wartezeit auf das Essen 1,5 Stunden, das Lokal war halb voll. Zudem fehlte auf der Damentoilette das Papier,... Wir hatten den Eindruck, daß sowohl die Küche als auch der Service total überfordert waren. Unser Fazit: Dieses Jahr und in der Hauptsaison nicht mehr, ein schöner Platz allein reicht nicht. Nachtrag von heute 01.07. 2022: Deutsche Freunde (3 Erwaschene und fünf Kinder zwischen 6 und 16) aus Athen waren im Artaki und haben aus den oben beschriebenen Gründen das Essen abgebrochen, also Essen unterdurchschnittlich, extreme Wartezeiten, usw., siehe oben. Dieses ist keine Privatfehde gegen den Besitzer, er ist sehr nett und auch der Platz ist superschön. Das reicht aber nicht ,...in einem Restaurant zählen letztendlich gutes Essen,...
