You have to appreciate the history to deem this a worthwhile site to visit. However, if you are staying in the area, I suggest you take the time. There are no access fees ... it is a short drive and a pleasant hike up the trail .... be mindful of the bees and the thorny plants along the path but a pleasant hike none the less.

It's not so impressive. there's no tomb of Tholos ,it's basically just a bunch of rocks and a ruined structure. It's not surprising , it's thousands of years old. Maybe if it was appreciated by the Greeks earlier in history, it could've been saved.

Nice wellknown beach with a lot of people. The surrounding area is a bit filthy. People are like animals and use the area as toilet (with toilet paper, etc.) Otherwise nice calm water.

Tomba di Thrasimede, uno dei figli di Nestore (re di Pilo), che si affaccia sulla magnifica baia di Voidokilia Beach. I resti del tholos (risalente alla tarda età del bronzo) sono mal conservati: all'interno della recinzione segnalata come 'sito archeologico' l'erba è alta, il pannello informativo all'entrata è pressochè illeggibile. Vale comunque la pena la passeggiata di cinque minuti che, dall'estremità settentrionale della spiaggia, conduce a una vista mozzafiato sulla baia della spiaggia appena fuori dalle recinzioni del sito archeologico.

Μυκηναϊκός τάφος ο οποίος αποδίδεται στον Θρασυμήδη, γιο του Νέστορα. Νεότερες έρευνες (1977-1979) υπό τον καθηγητή Γ. Κορρέ, απέδειξαν ότι ο θολωτός τάφος κτίστηκε επάνω σε τύμβο της Μεσοελλαδικής εποχής (2050-1680 π.Χ.) με ταφικούς πίθους, ενώ γύρω από τον τάφο εντοπίστηκαν ίχνη Πρωτοελλαδικού οικισμού (3100-2050 π.Χ. περίπου), αλλά και στοιχεία Νεολιθικής κατοίκησης (περίπου 4.000 π.χ.). Η πρόσβαση στον χώρο είναι σύντομη με τα πόδια από την παραλία της Βοϊδοκοιλιάς.

This is not a museum it is a looted burial mound with poor views. You need to be a fan of neolithic pre history to get anything from this pile of stones.
