Visited in June 2023 with my sister's to try and spot some flamingos. Unfortunately we didn't see any, and Google maps took us down some very questionable rural dirt roads that nearly took out our rental car!!! Would recommend turning back and driving on main roads if Google suggests going down a dirt track, trust your gut and let your GPS redirect you. Trust me there are legitimate roads to car parks (we went twice).

The lake is very calm, and great for serene pictures of the landscape of Corfu. We saw some fish jumping up through the water too. Beautiful coarse sand beach across the dunes to relax or swim in (especially cause it's a...

This is a must see for any nature lovers. The lake is really beautiful and really good for bird watching. I was lucky to see lots of flamingos, cormorants, herons and storks. On the other side of the lake there is a very long, sandy beach ( also a nude beach ) with warm, cristal clear water. Very quiet and away from people. Make sure to get there from the northern side of the lake ( near the beach Halikounas ). To me - a paradise, it's likely that all the negative comments are from the people who either got lost or who normally spent holidays by the...

Trying to find our way to the water. That was our first challenge Google maps took us by Linia horses then we tried to walk through found the huts but got stuck in the mangrove trying to get down and turned back. The following day we hired BMX bikes and went down the dirt tracks instead from the village at the top and found a fishing hut maybe, took base there for an hour but didn't see much wildlife a couple of swallows dipping and fish jumping out the water. Beautiful views though and definitely worth the sweat to get...

The lake itself is not spectacular. There’s no trail or easy access to the water and it doesn’t look like it’s meant to be swim in. The beach on the other side however is beautiful. We drove about 2 hours to get there and I would not say that it was worth it. The roads to get to the lake were fine, but then once you’re there the roads get bad.
