Símos — Attraction in Peloponnese, Western Greece and the Ionian

Picturesque scenery - a must visit during once in a lifetime! "Simos - Fragos" is the most beautiful beach on Elafonisos island. It's ca 5km from the harbor on the island, so one needs a car or bike to get there. The area is a peninsula found between two beautiful coves, with beach-bars on each side. Parasols cost between 20-30€ per person excluding drinks. I recommend staying on the island for at least two days in order to enjoy its natural beauties. The best thing about the area is that one can choose between the vibes of the beach bar or sit in the free open area and enjoy the tranquility of nature. The waters are crystal clear with beautiful light blue colors, however there was wind and waves...

Beautiful beach and perfect turquoise waters. However the experience is not what you might expect. Most of the beach is covered with sunbeds, with prices of 20-100 (typically 30-40 for an umbrella and two sunbeds, nothing more offered like showers, coffee, changing cabins, etc...). There is only a small part where you can set up your own umbrella and avoid the ridiculous fees for the sunbeds. Better avoid visiting the place in the peak season (Jul 20 to Aug 20), bring your own umbrella, snacks and coffee. Also the cost of reaching the island is 2€/person and 11€/car each way...

The sea is just amazing. Right temperature for a dive. Crystal clear waters. Be prepared to bring your own umbrella and stuff, as sunbeds are charged 50€. It would be a good idea as well to bring snacks and water as they are a bit pricey to buy from the nearby canteen. The boat trip from Pounta takes approximately 15 minutes and costs 12€ for the car and 4€ per person. Then, 10 minutes drive to reach this amazing place. A few dunes to walk through. Better arrive early in the morning as it can get really busy...
