A Hidden Kefalonian Gem! Acqua Alaties Beach is run by a remarkable Italian/Greek man named Stefanone Ci, with the team of beautiful Greek waitresses and chefs who sure know what they are doing. The restaurant, bar, and cafe is open and inviting- overlooking the stunning Alaties Beach (a place of great history- where the Greeks would come early in the morning to collect fresh Sea Salt from the white rocks around the bay.)
Acqua serves all kinds of taste quenching Italian and Greek dishes all using local produce and totally homemade.
The drinks, made by Stefanone the owner are like nothing I have tasted before- this man is an expert and an award winner!! (Don't miss out!)
Acqua has renovated from an idyllic dream to the most serene eco friendly lovable perch offering hammocks to relax on the bay, allowing customers to take a beer and enjoy it whiles watching the waves fold into a bliss of calm.
A gentleman Stefan, cleans the beach ensuring the safety of the marine life, and the customers.
The restaurant has a clean kitchen (I've seen it) and bathroom. They take a lot of care and are very hygienic!
The music is perfect, inspiring, and motivating with the accompaniment of the restaurants overall atmosphere and feel.
Above all, the kindness, fast service, and compassion of this place makes it one of the finest that Kefalonia can offer.
I hope you enjoy your experience here as much as I do.
You will enter and leave with a smile...
Read moreThis beach is not for everyone, but it is beautiful. It is a tiny beach with white pebbles and a narrow opening from the tiny beach to the sea. The water gets deep relatively quickly for a Greek beach. There are rocks surrounding the opening to the sea which many tan on. The steps leading to the beach are about 30 meters from where you park and there are places with shade under trees to relax, sit on the retaining walls, or throw a towel down. There are no chairs or umbrellas for sale. You will want to bring your own if you plan to stay on the beach itself. I also bring footwear I can use in the water which is nice when trying to scale the rocks on the shore. No lifeguards. Free beach. Free parking. Pictures attached are representative of everything stated. It is beautiful and worth seeing. Depending on your tastes, this may be a 1 hour pit stop instead of a day session...
Read moreA small but picturesque beach hidden amongst rocks. The view is incredible, especially in the sunset, and the water is warmer than nearby beaches. Be sure to bring some shoes so you can climb on the salt deposit rocks on the right of the beach. Small ponds of warm water are quite interesting for install stories and Facebook post that will make your friends jealous of not being there( and this is why I never post such photos). Be careful of the hordes of kids eating food on the sand. The place is small and attracts wasps looking for a snack. There is also an Italian beach bar that benefits a lot from the landscape, and during summer you have to reserve a table if you are planning to...
