I visit this place a lot in every season . I love every season of it and totally suggest it for a coffee and a trip in nature . If you are visiting the place only on holidays for some Christmas break then you should totally be aware of the following : 1️⃣ don’t go by car , if your new in town park your car in the center of the city and use the public Christmas train . It costs 1.5€ per person to go and you can find it next to the central square. It comes and goes every half an hour . You can also take it to go back in central town for 1.5 € again . It’s much easier to travel by the small train that trying to find a parking spot ! 2️⃣ bring your own water . 3️⃣ keep your children always close because the place is really big and the crowd is always big as well , so even for a spare moment you can lose each other in the crowd . There is always security there though and they’re all very helpful and kind , no worries for something bad happening . 4️⃣ there is a doctor available but the office is at the front , so make sure you always carry a small pharmacy bag with you , like bandages and allergic medicine etc . 5️⃣ for accommodations always check the Airbnb section at small villages nearby ! Visiting Santa was the worst experience, since they have just monetised the process: in a matter of seconds two professional photographers sit you next to a sad bored Santa, ask you to smile, dear Santa just asks the kid "what's your name", and once the photo is taken he gives you a candy and that's it. You are led outside to buy the photo! You are dealing with children that still believe in the magic of Xmas and Santa. Get in the role and engage with the kid for crying out loud..! To be fair though, in the eyes of my child, the place held a wonder and he enjoyed it a lot. They have decorated the place wonderfully and during the night it becomes magical. So to sum up, do visit it but don't plan your holidays around this visit - just a few hours will do the trick - you don't need days there, but be prepared, as a grown up, to be extremely annoyed with how they knowingly take advantage of the competitive advantage they have as the only themed park in Greece and overcharge everything for nothing. Food and rides are quite pricey but given that entrance is free and the atmosphere is lovely - a few extra euros are well worth it. Allow between 10 euros per person to eat and drink - and another 10-20 per person for rides or other treats…. All the people working were friendly and welcoming- all spoke English (thank you) - some fluently (the lady in the biscuit wheel spoke excellent English as did Father Christmas’ helpers and in the photo shop). We are learning Greek as best we can but are still pretty terrible at conversation. I worked in a tourist attraction in Australia and so appreciate the effort it takes to be happy, smiley and welcoming all day.
The toilets were all very clean and the workers there were friendly too.
