Fort Saumarez is one of many fortifications around Guernsey from WWII which have become just part of the islands aesthetic and a passive reminder of difficult times.
Having grown up on the island, it was an exciting place to visit on days out, as it was history right in front of your eyes with some curiosity still behind what took place... Or just to run and climb around as you would.
Now having returned as an adult, it's an exciting place to share with other people who have never experienced it before as small part of a tour around the island.
