Before reading on, I just want to say, this is a 100% recommended company to use on a cruise:

We were recommended from a FB group to use Victor Bodden tours. Even though I was nervous about going on a tour other than our cruise ship booking, I decided to take a chance and find out about the tour offered through this company. After researching and emailing the company, I cancelled the cruise ship excursion and booked with Bodden for the Sloth, dolphin, beach time tour. During that time any questions I had or concerns, the company got right back to me thoroughly explaining the information. Originally booking, I gave the date we would be on the excursion and the representative, through email, booked the tour and sent the info. They were friendly and had all the paperwork sent immediately with full detailed instructions. About an hour later, I received another email stating that according to my cruise details, I gave them the incorrect date of visiting the island so they rearranged everything and would get back to me for the dolphin excursion because that had to be changed separately. I felt horrible after double checking my info but SO relieved, they caught the error and within the hour they confirmed dolphins were booked! SO THANKFUL!!!! Getting to the tour. You must read the full info because I missed a few points, but it is clearly detailed out. They did exactly everything according to the instructions. We had a wonderful guide who I would give a 5 star rating to, Melena (Spelling may be wrong). She was so friendly and made you feel like she knew you forever, could trust her and just stayed involved with our tour, took pictures for us, showed us around, explained the country and her love for the country. She was just great! I would ask for her again!!! To the excursion. The sloth sanctuary was the best! Others we knew went to different sanctuaries but the one on this tour was the Mayan sanctuary and hands down was amazing! If you go, please tip everyone! The staff was amazing and that sloth love was awesome!!! We were one of the first ones there and I was so grateful for that too! The dolphin excursion, hands down the best! We were pleasantly surprised and would love to stay at the resort maybe someday, it was on. Anthony’s key resort, highly recommended! Please tip them too! Those trainers really have a passion for what they do! The beach excursion, was not our favorite but we did not venture out the full beach like it said you could in the paperwork information (Gott read!) There was also a mix up and we had to pay for the resort when we got there even though I knew it was inclusive to the excursion. When we got home, I emailed to let Bodden tours know what happened and they immediately sent me a refund for the beach. Like right away with no questions and a huge apology for the mix up. They explained what happened as well, so I was not left in the dark to question anything. I am so impressed with this company and so thankful we booked with them! I would do it again in a heartbeat!!...

Based on some reviews online (not through google reviews), I came across Victor Bodden Tours. I am soooo happy we booked through them. They allow you to reserve a private tour, and I paid $25 a person ( we had 3 adults and 2 kids ). Our tour guide Zetro was sooo nice and professional. He waited with us on each stop and he allows you to stop if you want to or not. We started the tour and took pics along the way. Then we went to the main site where I paid the $100, and decided to do zip lining as well. Wow, the crew were great, and they made sure to make it fun for the kids and people safe. My 4 year old even went upside down copying the crew. 😂.

After the zip lining was over, we went to the zoo area which was totally worth it on its own. It was FREE if you did ziplining or the ATVs, otherwise I think it was $15 per person. You get to go to the monkey area where they land on your head. The guide is patient and makes sure you can get all the pics that you need / happy with them. After monkeys, you get to go into the area with the macaws. Here again the guide has the bird land on your head or shoulder. Finally, you get to hold the sloth. The sloth is a lot lighter than you would have imagined but are super friendly. You have to hold them like a baby. My kids loved it. My wife isn't really into animals so she just watched and took pics.

They also took pics during ziplining, which you can buy for $60 which was wayyyy overpriced for Honduras IMO. That was the only negative for me.

After we were done in the main area, our guide Zetro asked us what else we wanted to do. He asked if we wanted to go to a smaller beach area where it would be free and less peddlers or if we wanted to go to the main beach. We elected to go to the more known West Bay beach. Initially he brought us to their private location. This is a good option if you want to spend some time there. There are no peddlers and chairs are included / shower facilities. However you have to pay like $25 a person or something. Because we only had a few hours, I asked Zetro to just bring us to the public beach area. This area you can sit for free on the beach but have to pay the various hotels if you want to use a chair. OR another option is just to sit in one of the restaurants and order food, which we did. He walked us to Pizzarama ( will write a separate review on that ). The kids played in the sand while we ate and had drinks including great mojitos and Monkey Lalas.

After eating, we walked down to the reef area and did some snorkeling from the beach as we didn't have enough time to ride the boat. You could still see schools of fish from the beach and it was great.

Finally, Victor is AMAZING at communicating via WhatsApp. He made...

This tour company is professional and service with a smile. We had a custom tour planned with our own private driver, Denry. He was patient in his wait for us at the cruise port as we had some trouble in finding the kiosk -- the port is very busy and the kiosk locations a bit confusing to find. Nevertheless, without being able to communicate with us he waited patiently and we finally began our tour. He drove us to the Mayan Jungle for the Ziplining/Monkey Sloth Sanctuary and while driving there gave us some history about his beautiful country. Denry was pleasant, engaging and very interested in knowing about us, his passengers as well. We were a group of 10; which he treated like his own taking personal care in guiding us through the process and making sure we were enjoying our entire experience. When we arrived we had the opportunity of doing the combined tour (ziplining+ Monkey & Sloth Sanctuary) or individually selecting what we preferred -- no pressure. The price was reasonable and the service from start to finish was impressive. There are approximately 12 ziplines to travel and the zipline techs stay with you from start to finish. They suit you up, clamp your zipline for you, show you how to glide off the ramps, and assured even the most scared of zipliners (I was one) that they had you the whole way -- and they did. Three techs worked hand in hand to make sure we always felt safe and had a wonderful experience. We finished the zipline and proceeded directly with the sanctuary tour guided by another friendly experienced staff member. There were digital photos available of our group experience offered for a cost at the end. There is also a small shop with artisan items available for purchase and refreshments. When finished there was reliable Denry waiting on us to continue on our excursion. The group wished to stop for an authentic meal, and make a stop at the chocolate factory, which Denry happily obliged. We also wished to stop at a local beach for snorkeling; however, time got the best of us and Denry made sure we made it back to the cruiseport timely. I would without hesitation refer this tour company for tours in Roatan; they are reasonably priced and provide excellent service! No $ is asked for in advance, you pay when you get there ... make sure you ask for Denry as your driver - he will take good...

Hi, we loved all three major places that we were able to go to, including the animal sanctuary, West Bay, Beach, and the dolphin encounter. Our custom paid private tour was a great driver, but honestly lacking in the guide realm. he started off by telling us how worried he was about getting a bad review because of a previous customer. We are assured him that we did not have those intentions, but we’re happy to visit his island. He kept on bringing that up throughout our entire visit, which was frustrating because it became more about him and less about us enjoying the island. He complained for me, asking him to stay with us on West Bay, and to keep an eye on our items while we were swimming. Complained he had no water and was very hot which could’ve been the case of course since it’s warm there, but has no business issuing any complaints as our private tour guide. He wanted to please us, but the negative attitude and worry or just overwhelming during our entire car ride. He left us for a dolphin encounter, which we understood, but was not there prior to us getting out and so we had to wait around for him. We did stop at a lovely place to get souvenirs which I appreciate it, but he did not Bring us to the cameo factory because there were cameos for sale at the local artisan shop. I would have preferred an actual tour guide for our private tour that we booked with you. His accent was also so thick that it was hard to understand anything that he said when he did bring up certain facts about the island which were a few. He was not a good tour guide, more of a driver that complained and worried. I believe he has a kind heart, but I do not believe he should be a tour guide. A driver, yes. He was a great driver. Your island is amazing, and I appreciated the check in process being seamless with you personally. If we came again, I would book with you, but make a very specific request for the kind of private tour guide we were issued. Your activities made up for the bad tour guide. And we still enjoyed our time on the island.
