I came here on a cruise and it was beautiful! One of my favorite ports hands down. You can buy an Excursion but you do not need to. It is a man-made Beach but it's what's in the water that matters. When you first get to Port there is a big shopping center which I want my is way overpriced and clearly made buy Carnival to get even more money out of you. However, you can take a chair lift to the beach for $15 a person or you can just walk the path underneath the chair lift which is like a 10 minute walk and go to the beach yourself. The beach is absolutely stunning! There is bar after bar after bar and hundreds and hundreds of yellow cushiony chairs shaded by palm trees and nothing but the best view of crystal clear water. There is a really long dock what they left guard at the end of it and if you go about 50 yards passed it there is one of the most beautiful coral reefs you can ever see for free. You don't have a guide telling what to do for making you rush or go where they want you to. It is off freelancing and absolutely beautiful. I took so many videos by using an underwater phone case. And the saltwater keeps you floating so you won't drown. Just bring your own snorkel gear or rent some there and you are good to go! We left our stuff on the chairs and snorkeled for hours. We went all the way out until we saw the drop-off which was nothing but pure blue all of the way out it looked incredible just like on finding Finding Nemo LOL. Nobody stole anything, the security there is excellent. Don't waste money on an Excursion unless you want to go zip-lining or see some monkeys and sloths at Gumbalina Park. If an underwater Adventure is what you are looking for, it is free and a priceless experience at Mahogany Bay. Also, on the 10 minute walk to get to the beach, you can veer off into some nature trails and go bird watching so make sure to bring some binoculars. There are hammocks along the way if you want to...

Read moreWhat a great place to spend a day! Today was super hot (I'm a Brit, so that's not necessarily indicative of especially high temperatures), but the water was only slightly below body temp, and there are plenty of sand banks to stand on. There are several lifeguards, by the way, so it is kid-safe. In fact, the only real danger here is the overproof rum in the cocktails. You wont think it tastes strong, but it'll getcha. I had two piña coladas and I was strangely tipsy ... like "Buckfast" tipsy 🤣 Anyhow, the loungers are free to use, there are kayaks and various other floats and water craft, but they will cost you. We rode a chairlift from the cruise terminal. It cost $14 per person on the day, but you can get it a little cheaper if you book it on your cruise ship. It's quite lovely! Walking is quicker but the view from the chairlift is quite cool. The waiting staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. Ths food is decent and fairly priced. I'm not a beach guy, but this is a GOOD beach! There are a couple of shops ... I had to buy some beach shorts (someone nicked mine from the launderette on sky princess ... #^#$£¥@*!!!!) but they were only 20 bucks. There are water outlets for you to wash the sand from your feet before you head back. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the whole place is owned by Carnival Corp and when there is no ship in port, it is closed. Locals are not allowed unless they work there. For shame,...
