Őrtorony-kilátó — Attraction in Balatonfüredi járás

The view of the surrounding landscape is really spectacular from this lookout, called "Watchtower". Though the building itself and its situation have stirred some controversies, some are afraid of that the possible flood of the tourists may cause harm to the natural treasures of this exceptional land. They might be right. But I also am just a mere tourist myself, and I really appreciate the opportunity to see the beauty of the lake and the Tihany peninsula from this...

U can’t go there. The people who live there blocked the road to go there. If they don’t want tourist go they should just blocked the road. N put closed in google. Every way shows in google u cannot go. You can only go by a special way which took us ages to find out. ( which is find a highway go m25 something like that , then I don’t know the detail more) So we drove all the way there and see nothing. I will not recommend to go there unless u have plenty of time to find...

There are wonderful panoramic views from the tower. The path up to the tower from the parking lot was along a really nice hiking route, through beautiful natural areas. Opportunity for improvement: signage. It took us a while to figure out that all roads leading to the tower from Sajkod were closed but that that the tower itself was open, we just had to hike up to it from the the other direction from the parking lot located at Hwy 71 ("Őrtorony...
