Galya-kilátó — Attraction in Gyöngyösi járás

Galyatető is one of the wonderful points of the Mátra mountain range. It is located at 956 meters, offering a spectacular panorama on clear days where you can see for miles. Looking around from the lookout, you can see the small villages from the top. A fee of 200 forints is required to use the lookout, after which you can go up to the top. This is a really cool lookout tower. The 3rd highest point of the Mátra and the country. The tower has been fully renovated two years ago. The turnstiles operate with 200 HUF coins, so have one ready to go up. They added a really awesome feature to the tower. You can rent out sleeping quarters at the top part of the tower. It's a simple bivouac, so all you get is a few boards to put your mattress and sleeping bag on. the place is great, the tower is great, sleeping in the tower.. well.. not so great. it would have been perfect if the door would be sealed in a better way, but it was a cold night and wind was blowing through poorly installed door :( i know i shouldn't expect much, but when i was there, this is all i could think of. I think in a warmer nights its perfect but if its a cold, windy night.. i think its not that perfect

but the view is perfect from the top, sunrise and sunset...
