Boksay Pincészet — Attraction in Tapolcai járás

My wife & I recently traveled to Budapest to go on a Viking River Cruise. We have some good friends, Pam Mickley Albers and her fiancé, Dr. Boksay Istvan. Istvan and his family own the Boksay Pinceszet which is about 2 hours outside Budapest so we decided to visit them at the vineyard. What a beautiful place; very quiet, peaceful and serene. The view of the vineyard from the gently sloping land is breathtaking and it is an excellent choice for a wedding venue, family reunion or just an overnight stay. Lake Balaton is a short drive down the mountain and there is a small church and a great restaurant a short walk away. The restaurant has a huge terrace that overlooks the vineyard and the valley below. The main residence has a remodeled kitchen and a huge subterranean tasting room along with a master suite and a number of bedrooms with bathrooms upstairs. Outside there is a covered pergola with seating and a firepit that is perfect for watching the sun set or moon rise. Also, there are a number of small cottages with bathrooms (and air conditioning!) on the property. But the best is the wine! They offer a Badacsony Keknyelu which is a grape unique to the Badacsony wine region as well as a Riesling, Pinot Gris, Rose, Cabernet, and a Sauvignon Blanc. They also have 6 Brandies made from different Boksay Pinceszet wines that are perfect for a welcome toast or a nightcap. You can’t go wrong!! Isteni borokat kóstoltunk, vásároltunk, kedves, figyelmes kiszolgálásban volt részünk!
