Prepare for and respect the forces of nature and wear a waterproof jacket (and sturdy shoes); revel in the wonderment of its creation. This place will permanently be ingrained into your aesthetic senses. The basalt rock formations are unbelievable and extraordinary, beyond what granite, marble, or limestone will ever be. Do not leave Iceland without visiting this shore even if it means delaying your flight. Research the Icelandic architect who miraculously incorporates many of these geological rock formation patterns into his architecture: Olafur Eliasson, or visit the building itself in Reykjvik: Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and...

Stunning place - one of the most epic beaches in Iceland. The views are incredible, and the texture and color of the sand is very unique. The sea stacks are also incredibly beautiful. You can see the stacks from 2 viewpoints - from the viewpoint in Vik and from Reynisfjara beach. IMPORTANT: This place is dangerous, as all the signs say and you should take them seriously. The tide is big and the sneaker waves can really take you by surprise, even on a perfectly calm day. Don't go too close to the water and keep an eye on the waves...

Beautiful area on the south coast. This is where the most beautiful black sand beach is located. There are caves that remind you of scenes from Game of Thrones, and beautiful basalt columns. However, you need to be aware of the deadly sneaker waves. Hey close attention when you are walking close to the shore, as the waves can be very calm one minute and strong the next.
