This basalt columns cliff is nowhere near as famous as the Reynisfjara ones in the shouth of Iceland, but it has nothing to envy to them. Zero crowds (actually no people) when I visited at the end of August. Surely worth a stop when driving around the area.

I had pretty low expectations coming here after reading some of the recent reviews, but we decided to come visit anyway and we were pleasantly surprised. It is actually pretty good and worth the 5min to stretch your legs and get some fresh air.

A great place to admire and walk on the basalt columns. It is next to the most impressive swimming pool of the country, due to its view. There is a free parking opposite the road and you can reach the beach and the rocks via a ladder.

Awesome spot worth stopping. There is a parking lot with a few picnic tables. The staircase down is nice and there is a railing. The path around the first formation to the right can be slippery especially when the rocks are wet.

Probably not the most impressive basalt columns in Iceland, but a good place to stretch your legs and an excuse to take a little bit of a detour if you are just rounding the ring road.
