While on our travels through Iceland, we stopped for the evening if Hofsos. While walking the quiet streets along the coastline we happened across Retro Mathus and decided to dine there. The atmosphere was very cozy and inviting, the staff extremely welcoming and the food, well the food was superb! We enjoyed one of their unique pizzas, a satisfying salad and some fried cheese with jam. The food here is made with only the highest level of ingredients, all sourced from local farmers and hand selected by the owner and chef. What really made the experience even better was the owner. He came by to check on us, made some great conversation, and was genuinely kind and welcoming. You don’t get that kind of hospitality everywhere these days. It felt more like being a guest than just another customer.
If you’re anywhere near this place, do yourself a...
