Daksharama is one of the five Pancharama Kshetras that are sacred to the Hindu god Siva. The temple is located in Daksharamam town of East Godavari in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Bhimeswara Swamy refers to Lord Siva in this temple. Inscriptions in the temple reveal that it was built between the 9th and 10th centuries CE by the Eastern Chalukyan king, Bhima. Architecturally and sculpturally, the temple reflects a blend of Chalukyan and Chola styles. The temple is historically prominent. It was built by Eastern Chalukyas who reigned over this area. It's believed to have been constructed earlier to the Bhimeswaraswamy temple in SamarlaKota (Samalkot) that was built between 892 C.E. and 922 C.E. Daksharama is considered to be the place where Daksha Yagnam happened. Lord Siva sanctified the place after the rampage and carnage carried out at the place by Lord Veerabhadra. Due to this tale, Daksharama is also known as Dakshina KASI Draksharamama is located at a distance of 25 km from Amalapuram, 28 km from Kakinada and 50 km from Rajahmundry. People can reach Rajahmundry and Kakinada by train and from there by road can reach Daksharamam. State highway connects it with all major towns and cities in India. Frequent bus services are available. The nearest airport is Rajahmundry Airport. Sri Bhimeswara Temple is a two-storeyed building having Dviprakanas. These stone boundary walls rise to a considerable height. The temple can be approached by four Dwaras (gates) on the cardinal directions and each of them has gopuram over it. The western gopuram is relatively bigger than the other three Gopuram viz., north, east and south. The entrance doorway contains a vertical door jamb on each side having scroll designs carved on them. The images of Dwarapalakas adorn either side of the doorway. The northern and southern gopuras are plain, simple in nature, unlike the eastern and western gopuras. In front of each of the Gopuras, a mandapa is located. An interesting and important sculptural panel is located near the step leading to the Saptagodavari tank of the temple and has the figure of Sapatarishis and Arundathi. The stone slab has miniature Orissan shrines housing the image of Saptarshi and Arundhati carved in relief. This is probably the only representation of Saptarishis and Arundhati in India

Temple is excellent as always. It’s all business across most of the temples in Andhra Pradesh. (Personally visited 10-15 temples recently in coastal Andhra) I visited on weekday, there was crowd, temple timings mentioned in google is correct. There’s also annadhanam in the noon time. Have good facilities, have water and toilets in the premises. Even though there’s little rush, they will push us for special dharshanam, can take it if needed. Ticket per person was costing 50/- rupees. (Only cash is accepted) When people want to upgrade the temple like other temples in Andhra Pradesh they can have separate queue lines for elders. I saw most of the elders preferring free dharshanam and they had to walk...
