The temple speaks of the expansion and the development from the past. With many pilgrims coming from various places and the various rituals they perform here from head tonsure, ear boring and rahu kethu Pooja..... It is a must visit destination in your spiritual life journey. As many mentioned try not to visit during weekends or public holidays and Tuesdays too as the place gets very busy.

A Devotional Journey to Mopidevi Temple – My Experience

Namaste everyone! Today, I want to share my spiritual journey to Mopidevi Subrahmanya Swamy Temple, a place where I truly felt the divine presence of Lord Murugan.

Starting the Journey

My trip began early in the morning from Guntur Railway Station at 4:10 AM. I took the Delta Express to Repalle, and the ticket cost was quite affordable at just ₹35. The early morning journey was peaceful, setting the tone for a devotional experience.

From Repalle, I took a shared auto to Mopidevi Temple, which cost ₹40. The road leading to the temple was calm, and I could already feel the spiritual energy as I got closer.

Reaching the Temple

I arrived at the temple around 6:30 AM and was instantly captivated by the sacred atmosphere. The temple is dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya (Murugan), and what makes this temple unique is that the deity is worshipped in the form of a Shiva Linga—something I haven't seen before in other Murugan temples.

Performing the Rituals

I performed the Sarpa Dosha Puja, which is believed to remove negative energies and doshas related to serpents. The temple offers various other pujas as well, and I noticed many devotees participating in different rituals with deep devotion.

While the temple itself was serene and powerful, I felt that some of the temple staff could have been a bit more welcoming. However, I reminded myself that my purpose was to seek the blessings of Lord Subrahmanya—Haro Hara!

Return Journey

After completing my darshan and puja, I took an APSRTC bus from Mopidevi back to Repalle Railway Station. The journey was smooth, and from Repalle, I caught a 9:30 AM train to Guntur, which reached by 11:00 AM. The train ticket cost just ₹20, making the entire trip quite budget-friendly.

A Must-Try Breakfast Spot!

Before heading back, I stopped at Abhiruchi Foods, located opposite the bus stand. Though the prices were a bit on the higher side, the Sambar Idly was absolutely delicious and worth trying!

Final Thoughts

This journey to Mopidevi Temple was a deeply spiritual experience for me. The energy of the temple, the unique form of Lord Subrahmanya, and the rituals performed left me feeling blessed. If you are ever near Guntur or Repalle, I highly recommend visiting this temple for a divine and peaceful experience.

Until my next...

🌟 Sri Subramanya Swamy Temple, Mopidevi – Review 🌟

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) Location: Mopidevi, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh

The Sri Subramanya Swamy Temple in Mopidevi is one of the most sacred and powerful temples dedicated to Lord Subramanya (Murugan). This temple holds a deep spiritual significance and is believed to be a “Swayambhu” (self-manifested) shrine, making it even more special for devotees.

Spiritual Significance:

This temple is known for fulfilling devotees’ wishes, especially for: • Childless couples • Those facing Sarpa Dosha or Naga Dosham • People seeking relief from health or marriage-related problems

The rituals here are intense and full of devotion, especially during Skanda Sashti, Subrahmanya Shashti, and Kartikamasam. Many devotees perform ‘Sarpa Dosha Nivarana pooja’ or Nagaprathishta with great faith.

Atmosphere & Experience:

The moment you enter the temple, there’s a feeling of divine energy. The main sanctum is simple yet spiritually powerful. The idol of Lord Subramanya Swamy is in a serpent form, which is unique and rarely seen elsewhere.

The priests are very dedicated, and poojas are performed with proper traditions. The temple staff is helpful, and there is a steady flow of pilgrims, yet the system remains organized.

Facilities: • Free and paid darshan options are available. • Clean premises and well-managed queues. • There are facilities for annadanam (free meals) during special days. • Accommodation options are available nearby (though basic).

Tips: • Best time to visit: Early mornings or before 10 AM to avoid heavy crowds. • Ideal during Skanda Sashti or Karthika Masam for special blessings. • Don’t miss the Prasadam, especially the laddu and pulihora.

⸻

Overall Verdict:

A visit to Mopidevi Subramanya Swamy Temple is not just a pilgrimage—it’s a deeply transformative experience. Whether you’re a firm believer or simply exploring, you will feel a divine connection that stays with you long after you leave.

🌺 Must-visit for anyone seeking divine blessings, especially related to family, children, and...

Temple is awesome and very very powerful. SUBRAMANYA GOD Resides here in the form of linga with no prana-matta. Any dharmic wish we pray to God and his consorts will be fulfilled with in short period of time. If we through the second queue, from the main entrance, we can have nagula-putta and naga shilalu (serpent rocks). Carry some milk (available in near by shops) while going inside the 2nd queue and pour it on the serpent rock. Offer some banana ad naivedyam and offer a coconut too. GOD subramanya practically resides in this nagula putta as a Divine NAGA SERPENT and randomly travels from here to garbha griha/ sanctum sanctorium (This is where lod subrahmanaya resides in the form of linga). After this, again come to the dwaja sthambha and have a darshan of God SUBRAMANYA along with his two consorts VALLI DEVI AND DEVASENA. On your Way out, There is a NAGA MALLI tree 🌳 . Those who doesn't have children, tie mudupu with a red cloth or tie a cradle (you can buy from the shops outside). You will be definitely blessed with children. You can buy laddoo and pulihora from the prasadam counter, located near the tree. If you have any other personal problems, ask priests inside the temple. They will suggest some solutions.

Note : The karakatta road from vijayawada to mopidevi temple is full of pot holes. Even young persons cannot handle the uncomfort caused by the journey through this road. Only God knows how people are travelling by this road. It took more than 2 hour 15 min. If there are any 50+ ppl or suffering from any spine issues want to visit this temple, please donot travel through KARAKATTA ROAD. Ask for an alternate route in the bustand inquiry itself. If there is any other route available, I will recommend you to take the...
