Even though I live in Guwahati, I have never had the opportunity to explore one of the most renown places in Guwahati, Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra. Since it is a cultural institution, many cultural events and festivals take place every year, and the place is always in the limelight in newspapers and magazines. Blissfully, in this year's Sharashwati puja, my spouse was urging me to visit this place, and I don't want to lose this opportunity. Expecting a large crowd was understandable given that it was Shrashwati puja, and I was almost certain that the authorities would hold a large sharaswati puja inside the premises, but instead I saw a few people who appeared to be Kalashetra staff organising swaraswati puja among themselves, and that was it. Honestly, I was expecting more, however, the place is heaven for small children, there are many fun activities for them. Additionally, I notice some construction work going on here and there. I've also seen some trees that are not commonly available, but they are well maintained and look very beautiful. We also visited inside the gallery complex, where many cultural statues and traditional items of the North-East region have been displayed, as well as ancient masks probably used in stage drama, some of which look quite scary. It is a must-visit place if you are into arts, culture, and history.

A srimanta sankaradev is commonly called kalakshetra. It is a cultural institution in punjabari area of guhawati in assam. This institution is named on the name of medieval poet srimanta shankaradev. It is a major tourist place in guhawati of assam. There is a museum in this institution which shows varied culture and their traditional dress as well as their tradition of ancient and medieval times. There is a gallery in this museum which shows different types of weapons used in that time. Most of galleries here also display the Assamese culture and their lifestyles from ancient times. Here Assamese culture is portraied Through huts and different things required in that time to spend their livelihood.According to me the main center of attraction is different sculptures of different gods in this Museum. There is vast open space surrounded by beautiful flowers and greenery . At some places some of monuments are present which increases the chances of people's attraction. Here a solar plates are installed at roof of some buildings to generate their own electricity for street lights and many more.. At last it is an awesome place for visiting and exploring the cultures of assam.

Rated 3 Star, because of the "Ticket Counter and Ticket Counter personnel." 1. At this current marketing scenario, they don't have a UPI Payment facility. 2. They'll ask you for Cards. Nowadays, who carry cards with himself or herself. 3. They don't give you change, you have to bring change from home. It may be because the ticket counter employees are well packed with the street vendors (for commission), because if they don't give you change, obviously you will go to the vendors for change. 4. The behavior of the ticket counter staff is very bad. They misbehave with anyone, even visitors outside Assam. 5. There must be a feedback system, how visitors feel about the place. This is not a park. So public feedback to improve the facilities/beauty/Cleanliness etc. of this "Cultural Hub" of Assam is utmost essential.
