Ullala Kere is currently dry and looks like a grassland. This might be because the water was diverted as some construction works and maintenence is ongoing. Currently you cam spot a large family of peacocks (more than 20 were spotted in many parts of the lake). Kingfishers, lapwings can also be spotted here. The lake has a paved pathway with the lake trail running for 1.7km. Hopefully the lake will brim with water once the construction...

I didn't like it on my first visit. It is no Pulicat Lake. Of late, it's been growing on me. I like it a lot. It's relatively quiet. Update : The west side has the polution from the adjacent main road, the north side has the smell of the STP, the south side is kind of okay, the east side is adjacent to a construction site with a lot of noise from cement mixers etc. It's no longer a place for a walk...
