The word ‘Dhuandhar’ derives from ‘Dhuan’ ( means smoke) and ‘Dhara’ ( means flow), signifies the smoky environment generated from water droplets around the fall. The fall is formed by booming Narmada river on its way to the deep gorge of marble rock. The panoramic view of the fall from cable car is really magnificent specially at the time of sunset. Best time to visit the place is around Sharad Purnima when Narmada Mahotsab is also celebrated. The view of marble rocks on boating from Bhedaghat at full moon night is a memory of life time. MP Tourism Rest house is the closest and best accommodation with direct views of marble rock from the property. Overall it’s a must visit place in Jabalpur.

BEAUTIFUL FALLS!! A pleasure to watch , looks mesmerizing. Situated on the river Narmada and aptly named as Dhuandhar because of the huge amount of water gushing down through these falls. If you are in Jabalpur, you got to visit this. The amount of water flowing down is absolutely mind boggling and it seems as if milk is flowing down the slopes of the water fall. A cloud of mist hovers over the waterfall and rainbows can be seen frequently too. Coming to its location, it is situated in an area called as Bhedaghat. One can easily go there by own vehicle, cab or even public transport. A proper parking is present and guides are also available. Best time to visit is early monsoon season, because after that the water level rises tremendously in Narmada and one of the main parts of the road that leads to the falls gets submerged.

"Dhuandhar Falls in Madhya Pradesh is a sight to behold! The name itself, meaning 'smoke cascade,' aptly describes the mesmerizing phenomenon created by the misty spray of water as it tumbles down the rocky cliffs. The force and beauty of the falls are truly captivating, especially during the peak monsoon season when the flow is at its strongest. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views from various viewpoints along the gorge, and for a more immersive experience, boat rides are available to get up close to the falls. However, it's essential to exercise caution, especially on slippery pathways. Overall, Dhuandhar Falls offers a refreshing escape into nature's splendor, making it a must-visit destination in Madhya Pradesh."
