The unique name of the temple is enough to make people think. And the story behind the name is also unique and fascinating... The story goes like... In 1982's Navratri, people decided to build a temple of Durga maa at the same place where statue was placed. They decided not to immerse the statue and to make a permanent temple at same place but the government didn't allowed to do so as the statue was placed in the centre of road. Government asked people to immerse the statue and the people disagreed and went on a hunger strike and the situation got worse after that so the government decided to impose a cerfew. But it resulted in nothing and government took back its decision. The government then took a wise decision to break a old alcohol shop and to build the temple at that place. Many metals are used to decorate the temple. There is a 'Shri Yantra' made of silver inside the temple and it's decorated in gold. There is a golden item as well. The door has been decorated with 130kg gold, many smaller deities made in silver of 18kg, throne of 21kg gold, and almost half a kilo gold used to decorate the Hayes and walls.
