Read moreThe IGRMS is a anthropological museum that preserves links and research ideas about the origin and social relationship of human beings long ago. The entire museum is spread over an area of 200 acres of land and is very huge. The museum is close to the famous Demonstration Multipurpose School in Bhopal and also near the Upper Lake. So we accessed it through t he lake view road. The time I visited was during the ongoing open exhibitions in the museum. I went round the museum and also learned that the museum holds different types of exhibitions throughout the year. Indoor galleries, special exhibitions, periodic and temporary exhibitions, traveling and online exhibitions are few of them.
The museum is very close to the Upper Lake, and therefore it attracts large number of visitors daily. It also contains a rich variety of ancient resources collected from every nook and corner of India. The museum has a large library where I found few of the best compilations that represented the history and evolution of the country. There is an indoor museum which depicts the life style of the people who lived long ago. From the collection of weapons they used food, utensils and clothes they wore, everything is preserved in the museum. There is also the dummy structure of the kinds of houses the ancient human beings used to live.
