The current DGM, Ashoka Mishra, and his team have done a remarkable job in creating this marvel, by putting in extra effort outside of their regular work hours.
The museum showcases the evolution of railway bridges, tracks, lanterns, cutlery, tickets, signalling systems, and much more. It also houses a unique philatelic collection that is hard to find in one place. The enthusiastic guide who explains the exhibits in detail adds to the experience.
The restaurant that gives the feel of a Maharaja train further add to the charm of the place along wirh toy train, making it a great attraction for children and adults alike.
The Indian East Coast Railway DGM and his team have done an awesome job of preserving the history of railways. Visiting the museum is a great way to learn about the evolution of railways, and I was surprised to learn about the role of the Indian railway in Rath Yatra, which was previously unknown to me.
The museum also has some pleasing videos that visitors can watch to enhance their experience. I highly recommend spending at least three hours at this place to fully appreciate the exhibits and the effort put in by the museum's creators.
Overall, the Rail Museum is a must-visit destination atleast for 3 hours for anyone interested in the history and evolution of railways
