Barbecue Odisha - BAR AND GRILL — Restaurant in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation

We visited this restaurant at lunch time after a decent review from a food blogger but had a terrible experience. We had to wait a good fifteen twenty minutes before the staff approached us. We requested no ice in the welcome drink which was directly declined that no welcome drink can be served without ice. More than half a glass was filled with ice and the drink tasted more like water when the ice melted. They served fried wings and fried corn first which tasted average but the staffs were unwilling to refill it. They kept on forgetting the orders. There was no dip with the starters and we got one after asking twice for it. There were just couple of staffs taking orders and serving the dishes so they weren't ready to listen and the service was extremely slow. We waited for few minutes before everything was refilled. Then fish finger and cigar rolls were served. We asked them to repeat the cigar rolls but they said it was not in stock. A restaurant providing unlimited buffet also has items not in stock. The grilled items tasted bland. There was chicken, prawn, soya chap, pineapple and mushrooms. Then we moved to the main course buffet. Flies were all over the place and it felt very unhygienic. We had few bites and decided to skip to the dessert. Honestly, the dessert was disappointing too. Ten rupees ice cream which comes in a cup was served in a dessert bowl. There was no curd available. There was no coke available. We had to settle for Sprite. The bill was 1900 including GST for two people which didn't feel worth it. The very beginning we got service of the soup,which was a bit saltier.They got replaced after letting them know.It was a setback from beginning.Anyway it was appreciated for the replacement.It was pretty okay so far.Then we asked for today's menu to the manager.We enquired about the Korean Chicken and Dilkhush Chicken(which we saw from YT vlogs) which were the prime pulling factor for us.But just when we asked,got a negative response from the manager.When we said thise items were the unique items from other barbeques(not naming then,here) in Bhubaneswar,which we thought was a constructive feedback,he went on an argument saying their menu is changing everyday, and people won't be taking same dishes everyday(he seemed to to have customers who visit everyday to have buffet of 850 there)even the unique core ones which we thought would have been making people for "go and try".We politely tried to tell him the absence of customer satisfaction,but he was cold in response, unlike very warm response from other Barbeques in Bhubaneswar when we had to tell them if something wrong in the taste of items.He seemed to be naive, incompetent and unprofessional,as far as a buffet restaurant is considered (i say this on our experiences in other barbeques at Bhubaneswar,who seemed very polite,down to earth,as expected from a food servicing organisation.This organisation needs a lot of improvement starting from customer dealings from the manager primarily if they have to go far.But i must say,the other food serving guys were pretty good and well behaved,...

This place is a total disappointment. Taste : total garbage. Only Korean chicken wings was edible Service : waiter service was worst. They keep forgetting to serve food after repeated requests. ( this is a barbecue buffet, so stater would be served by the waiters) so we just waited for them to serve. They just won’t serve anything. Atmosphere: it’s okay, not high standards but normal restaurants of Odisha would look like that. It’s not a premium restaurant. Buffet Price: 850 rs + gst *other barbecue buffet price is 750-800 in general like Absolute Barbecue and much better service Menu : Chicken tikka( 2 varieties) Korean chicken wings Panner tikka, soya chap Spring roll, crispy corn, prawn grill Soup Main course:- plain rice, fried rice , dal, panner gravy, noodles, chicken butter masala, mutton, naan. Dessert:- baked rasgula, custard, pudding, gulab jamun.

Honestly its not the number of items matter, its the taste, the staff behaviour and services that matters. Which they lacked completely. The only thing that tasted decent in terms of flavour is Korean chicken wings. The service was so terrible that we wanted to just get up and leave but we went with our son and didn’t want to create scene infront of him. The food was also cold.
