Mangala Gauri temple in Gaya is among the eighteen Maha Shakti Peeth. (Ashtadasha Shakti Peetams), Which is located just 1 km away from Gaya Junction.

It is believed the breast portion of Sati Mata's body fell at this place. Here Shakti is worshipped in the form of a breast, a symbol of nourishment. An Akhand Deep is kept lit in side the temple. It is said that the highest blessings are received just by the Darshan of this Akhand Deep. It is believed that whoever comes to maa Durga with his wishes and prayers, returns with all of prayers and wishes come true.

Architecture of the temple: This temple is built on a Bhasmakoot Parvat in the year 1459 CE. We have to climb up few steps to reach the temple. This steps route is in between houses of local people. At the starting steps route, there is the temple of Bhima and also Knee impression of Bhima. This place is also called as Bhimvedi Gaya as Bhima who is one of the Pancha Pandavas did Shraddha Karama.

The temple is facing East and Sanctum also has beautifully curved sculptures on the walls. Outside the courtyard is a place where Homas and Havans took place. The entrance to the sanctum is very small and we have to crouch to enter inside this temple.

Temple premises encompasses temples dedicated to Adi Deva Ganesh, Maa Kali, Shaktishali Hanuman and Lord Shiva. There is small mandap available in front of the temple.

Special Pooja's: Mangala Gauri Pooja: During Sravan month Every Tuesday, a special pooja takes place where women offer16 varieties of bangles and seven types of fruits with five sweets for prosperity of their families. This practice has been followed since antiquity at this temple. Navaratri Pooja: The another famous festivity of this shrine is Navaratri held in October/November month every year. During Navaratri time special pooja's, meditation and prayers performed here in this temple. Maha Ashtami of Navaratri there is a huge gathering of devotees. Shivaratri: Shivaratri also celebrates here as a big festival with Rituals and Pooja. Temple Visiting hours: Morning 05:00 to 13:00 hours. Evening 16:00 to...

Nice simple template. Will get very Good vibes to visit this Temple. Religious people will really feels happy to visit. Not much crowded. Easily finish the darshan They can allow you to gurbha gudi and you can touch the murthy there. This Temple will close on one o'clock and again open on 2:00 p.m. to plan accordingly that. You have to walk on steps older people may get some issue with their legs. Take care of your children steps. They don't collect any features or any offerings to the people who want to visit their Murty. The people who organised the temple are very helpful and friendly they mainly not asking any bribe

But one panthulu asking some money but we are not giving any money. This is under tolerance level.

To come to this Temple take electric auto is better option. From this Temple you can find Vishnu pada. The Resham another route you can find from here. As the people who are there in the temple. Deccan guide you

The good thing is you can get sparsha Darshana here. You carry any rudraksha poojary will give you with doing some Pooja.

It is very near to Gaya railway junction. If you want to visit from Gaya railway junction first you can go Vishnu pada and then come to this Temple. It may save your time and effort. Coming to the temple it's better to take some basic things like kumkuma pasupu and gajula. You can easily find these things in the temple side. But it's better to carry.

Coming to the Murti in garbage you can find a big stone. You can find baby face in the stone it's really good to see

Unlike Kashi are in other places you can't find monkey here. Try to take some food or some offering maybe lot of poor beggars are there you can give some money or food to the beggar.

Can't find any washroom facilities over their older people may suffer.

Better to take some water bottles. The shop near the temple we will give water bottle which is not branded or fake branded. The water is good...

According to Adi Shankaracharya, Mangla Gauri temple / Sarvamangala Devi Peeth is one of the Ashtadasa Shakti Peeths. The temple has been mentioned in Padma Purana, Vayu Purana, Agni Purana and in many scriptures and tantric works and it upholds the faith of Hindus in “Shakti”. Mangala Gauri Temple is located in Gaya, Bihar and stands on the bank of Falgu River. Gaya in India is held holy and pious by both Hindu and Buddhists. The narrow by lanes with age old buildings, beautiful natural surroundings with rocky hills on the three sides and river flowing by the city on the western side makes the city look beautiful and elates the spiritual atmosphere of the place. The present temple was constructed in 1459 AD. The temple is dedicated to Mangala Gauri, the Mother Goddess Shakti, who is worshipped as the Goddess of benevolence. This temple constitutes an Upa-Shakti Pitha – where it is believed that a part of the body of Shakti fell – according to mythology. Here Shakti is worshiped in the form of a breast symbol, a symbol of nourishment. The temple faces east and is situated on top of the Mangala Gauri hill. There is a flight of steps as well as a motorable road that lead to the temple. The sanctum is adorned with some intricately carved ancient sculptures. There is a small hall in front of the temple and a fire pit in the courtyard. There are two small shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and Mahishasura Mardini, Durga and Dakshina Kali.

I recently visited the Mangala Gowri Temple in Gaya, and my experience was a mix of both positives and negatives. The temple holds great religious significance and offers a serene spiritual ambiance for devotees. However, the heavy rush inside the temple made the visit somewhat challenging. The management seems ill-prepared to handle the large crowds, and there is a lack of proper arrangements to assist visitors. For a smoother darshan, a special ticket priced at ₹250 is available, but it feels unfair that devotees have to pay extra to avoid long waits. Additionally, the behavior of some pandits was disappointing, as they demanded money for every ritual and offering, which detracted from the spiritual experience. That being said, the overall atmosphere of the temple is still worth experiencing for its divine energy and cultural importance. Despite the challenges, the temple is well-maintained and clean. If you plan to visit, it’s advisable to go during less crowded hours and be mindful of unnecessary expenses. While my overall experience was good, I hope the temple management addresses these issues to ensure a smoother and more fulfilling visit for devotees.
