According to Adi Shankaracharya, Mangla Gauri temple / Sarvamangala Devi Peeth is one of the Ashtadasa Shakti Peeths. The temple has been mentioned in Padma Purana, Vayu Purana, Agni Purana and in many scriptures and tantric works and it upholds the faith of Hindus in “Shakti”. Mangala Gauri Temple is located in Gaya, Bihar and stands on the bank of Falgu River. Gaya in India is held holy and pious by both Hindu and Buddhists. The narrow by lanes with age old buildings, beautiful natural surroundings with rocky hills on the three sides and river flowing by the city on the western side makes the city look beautiful and elates the spiritual atmosphere of the place. The present temple was constructed in 1459 AD. The temple is dedicated to Mangala Gauri, the Mother Goddess Shakti, who is worshipped as the Goddess of benevolence. This temple constitutes an Upa-Shakti Pitha – where it is believed that a part of the body of Shakti fell – according to mythology. Here Shakti is worshiped in the form of a breast symbol, a symbol of nourishment. The temple faces east and is situated on top of the Mangala Gauri hill. There is a flight of steps as well as a motorable road that lead to the temple. The sanctum is adorned with some intricately carved ancient sculptures. There is a small hall in front of the temple and a fire pit in the courtyard. There are two small shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and Mahishasura Mardini, Durga and Dakshina Kali.

The Mangla Gauri temple is among the eighteen maha shaktipeeth, it is believed that a part of the body of Sati Devi fell here according to mythology. It is an ancient temple, located on a small hillock, couple of stairs to be climbed. Mangalagauri is worshiped as the Goddess of benevolence. The temple complex was clean and also houses temples of Maa Kali, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva. We visited the temple on a Saturday morning and stood in the ordinary line. Though the que was not big, but it was moving too slow Because The main temple is not very big, too many devotees were trying to enter the main temple for puja and darshan at a time, creating some difficulties for others, crowd management by the temple committee may ceto rtainly be improved. The approach road to the temple was narrow and dusty. Overall, a blissful visit and darshan of Mata Mangala Gouri.

We have total 51 shaktipeeth out of which 9 are situated in Bihar . This is one of the nine shaktipeeth. The place has great aura. Garbhagriha: The place has garbhagriha, people in group of 5 are allowed to enter and those 5 people can sit and offer prayer infront of shaktipeeth guided by pujari ji again the aura of garbhagriha is great and spiritual. Prasad: there are various stalls to buy prasad. Nariyal, chundri, and phool mala are necessary. You can buy peda, shringar samagri, if you want . Fare and location: Rickshaw will change Rs 20 /- per person from Gaya junction and takes approximately 20-25 min to drop you at the main gate of the mandir . My experience : it was pleasant experience. We haven't experienced crowd as it was raining heavily during our visit . According to some local you will experience heavy crowd on Tuesday and Saturday.

The 8th Shakti peeth, Sarva mangala devi temple. Mangalagauri is worshipped as the Goddess of benevolence. This temple constitutes a Shakti Peeth — where it is believed that a part of the body - breast of Mata Sati fell according to scriptures of extremely ancient Hindu divine history. Here Sati is worshipped in the form of a breast, a symbol of nourishment. It is believed that whoever comes to Maa Durga with his wishes and prayers, returns successfully with all of prayers and wishes come true. The temple is facing east and is built on top of the Mangalagauri hill. A flight of steps and a motorable road lead to it. The sanctum houses the symbol of the Goddess and it has some finely carved ancient relief sculptures. A small hall or mandap stands in front of the temple. The courtyard houses a fire pit for the hōma.

It's one of the 108 Shakti peeth in India . The shrine is dedicated to goddess sati. The temple is situated on the Gauri hills of Gaya, Bihar. This shrine attracts tourists from across the country especially Nepal and southern parts of India. A swarm of devotees can be seen on Tuesday mornings and during the time of Navratri. The premises of the temple is clean and quite spacious. There is very old and famous Lord Shiva linga known as Markandey Mahadev within 300 mtrs of goddess temple. The most famous temple of Gaya ' Vishupad temple' is situated around 2 kms away from Mangla Gauri. Also it's very peaceful once you are in the premises during evenings ( nice time for darshan ).
